There are also a lot of low cost providers which will work fine if you are not expecting an overwhelming amount of traffic. I have a website that costs me $3 per month for way more bandwidth than I need.

There are quite a few good reliable webhosting like yahoo, hostmonster, ixhost, bluehost and ipower etc... They got their own strength like webspace, bandwidth etc...
