I have had an interview today for a position in recruitment for which I did not succeed. The role was heavily sales based and in giving the feedback he said, after a bit of hinting, I was too nice.

I went on an interview, and was asked why I was leaving my present job. I said to advance any further I would have to move out of state and I do not want to take my kids out of school. The lady interviewing me then I hope you have someone to watch your kids.

I don't believe she can ask me that, but I am not sure since I brung up the fact that I have kids. I wanted to know if that was inappropriate for her to say

I have heard differing opinions about this but I didnt think you had to but a couple recruiters have told me that you are going to have to give it up at some point. I feel like you might be cheating yourself if you are actually honest enough and give your CORRECT salary, the company might try to lowball you. At least this is a situation I found myself in around 6 months ago.

any thoughts on this?

I have a friend looking for a job and is refused a paper application and in return being asked to go to a website to apply. He does not have easy access to the web and is therefore requesting a paper application. And he is not the only one. My neighbor is now complaining of the same thing.
Now, obviously I allow him to use my computer and phone as a job hunting source, but I think it bothers him. I understand the complaint as well, applying online is usually long and tedious with no call backs.

biggest weakness is, what would you answer? This is a two-parter.....would answering "I tend to trust people too much" be a bad or good answer? What would YOU say if asked this.

I'm going to a job fair in town, should I bring copies of my resume? Is a long sleeve collared shirt too formal? Also, I am well groomed but I have a goatee. I shaved my sideburns for the purpose of appearance, but what about the rest? Do potential employers look down on facial hair?

My coworker is retiring in December. The thing is , since she is retiring, I will be out of a job as well.
Anyways, I was offered a job that pays $4 an hour more than what Im making now. I would love to quit my current job and take the new one, but I feel guilty about leaving my co-worker to look for a replacement for me 2 months before she is ready to retire. Should I feel guilty...and what should I say. Thanks !

I am on my 3rd job since graduating in chemical engineering in 04. I took a horrible 1st job bc the market was down. I was put on meaningless, tedious work in my 2nd job so i left. I thought the 3rd would be the one...but im working in the most boring, non engineering part of the plant and i want to quit! I think i would be stuck in the position for a few years. what would you do?

I'm thinking about eventually going to dental or law school. If I graduate with a double major in political science and english (which is what I'm pursuing now) would dental school really be that much harder than if I had graduated with a degree in something like biology?

This is on the web page of the dental school I'm interested in:
"No particular major field of study in college is required for admission to dental school. A well-rounded educational background with courses in a variety of subjects is desired. Individuals have been accepted to dental school who majored in French, engineering, marketing, etc. Majoring in a science, however, will make an applicant more attractive to the Admissions Committee. The majority of successful applicants to LSUSD have degrees in biology, zoology, microbiology or chemistry."

I work at a job that pays me $85k+ and I hate it. I've always wanted to do a myriad of other things, but fall into the "get the paycheck" rut that I'm stuck in. I'm 40 this year and want to break out and do something else. I just feel I'm not looking the in the right directions...help.

does anyone here know? you see we are trying to have out paintball club here at college recognized as a non-profit, as a private foundation to be more exact, and almost everything is being put on hold until we get the reply.

My members would like to have some idea since most of the benefits are coming from having a non-profit status.
