If you are on 100% ccommission pay, I don't think that it is legal to make it mandatory, BUT...

I take it you have not been a commissioned salesperson for too long, if you are asking this question.

Is this a sales/training meeting?

If so, I would definitely attend. The more you learn about your product/service, the competition, and sales techniques, the better chance you have of becoming the top salesperson.

And as everyone knows, the top dog does what they want, when they want, and sometimes even gets paid to do it.

They can legally call a mandatory meeting for whenever they want to, and can fire you for not attending, or for pretty much any reason, or for no reason.

Most states have right to work law; they can fire you for pretty much anything unless you have a contract or agreement that says otherwise.

That being said, check with the local Labor Relations board

It is annoying but it is best to go. If they are doing this once in awhile don't say anything.

If it gets to be common I'd say something.
