I am not on Medical Leave. My boss is still paying me as if I were working and has been for a month. I have been told that my job is there when I return to work. Now he is encouraging me to apply for disability. I could get better soon and be able to work again. Legally what should I do ensure that I keep my job?
Any advise would help

I want to pierce my nose, but I have landed a great job with an attorney as a legal assistant (and am studying to be a paralegal). I do want my piercing to be small, modest and "quiet". Should I ask my boss how he would feel about it (and not do it if he gives me a negative reaction)? Or just do it and hope he wont fire me? Can he fire me for something like that?
Ive seen other girls with piercings and tattoos that work in the industry...I just dont know how my boss will react.

I just graduated from college and was hired for a good company. I have been there 5 days. the benefits are good, but for upward mobility i would have to get a masters in social work. two days after i am working, i get a letter from the county to work for them. county has way better benefits and you can definitely go up the ladder. is it rude to dump the first job out of college to get the county job? i do not want to be rude, but eventually that is the job that offers the most stability.

I am student getting ready to graduate with a major in IT and had a job interview today with a large company and all went well but for some reason they emailed tonight wanting a couple more professional refrences and also asked if they could contact my current boss and my college advisor. Yesterday they called my supervisor and he gave me a great refrence.

Does this mean that they are really thinking of giving me the position? I know they probably wouldn't go to all that time and trouble if they wasn't but I just really don't know what to make of it.

I just joined an organization that meets on the weekends from 2-6. I'm 16 with a car payment, a little under $155 a month. Is it possible for me to say that I cannot work 8 hour shifts on the weekend anymore? I am positive I will still have enough income per month for my expenses. My work is flexible, so what do you think their reactions would be?

I quit my job and it's been well over two weeks and they haven't sent my paycheck in the mail. How long does a job hold paychecks before they either send it in the mail or they have to send it in the mail?

I've been to several interviews and I have had people tell me that I interview very well and that my resume is very impressive. I have two jobs in the past of which I was with for about 8 months each (keep in mind I'm a college student) and I didn't give a two weeks notice. I'm guessing that this is what's keeping everyone away. could I just put the last 2 or 3 jobs on there and lie about them or will that do more damage?

I have an interview at Mervyns on Monday and while I was filling out the application I remember something about a pre employment drug test. Ive smoked weed in the past month. I dont do it frequently just sometimes.

Do they really drug test you before they hire you or is it something that they just say. I really need this job.

If they do ask me I should I just be honest about it and not lie because they definately wont hire me if I lie.

What should I do?

I really want to pursue stage lighting... I have no experience in it, and was really discouraged to stay out of it while I was in college due to friends telling me that I'd be contending with people who've been doing it since high school and had no chance. I can't afford to get a 4 year degree right now (not allegeable for loans or financial aid)... is it possible to get into the world of stage lighting with little experience? If so, how?

Nurses, firefighters, doctors, and/or police officers do you assume that you are exempt from doing good things in your personal time? Do you think that your "Do Good" time is from when you punch into work and when you punch out?

Or hopefully, do you assume that your responsibilities to your community far surpasses your shift at work? Also do you feel more responible because of the work that you do?

Plus what is your take on "Frequent Flyers", compassion or annoyance?

Lots of questions I know, trying to save points.

It's taken me awhile to figure out what to do with my life, but I have finally figured out I want to be a guidance counselor.

I live in West Virginia and many people tell me that in order to become a guidance counselor and get a job, you need a degree in teaching and teaching experience. I do not have any interest in being a teacher at all.

At the college I will be attending it says they have an alternative program for students w/o a teaching degree and I think that allows you to be licensed as well...does anyone know anything about that?

I am wondering how hard it would be to land a job as a guidance, as many people tell me it's very difficult, what the job is like and what would be a good thing to get a BA in?

I was thinking Counseling, then I thought possibly social work, now I am still strongly thinking maybe sticking with counseling.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Can you get your BSN from going right into a program for that right out of college? Also, how long would it take to get this degree if I go to college for nursing right away after high school?

Thankyou!

I currently make $40,000 a year in Finance but don't feel like I am contributing meaningfully to society. I also have a husband and two small kids, so night shifts will not work for me.

I live near Baltimore, MD.

I have a B.S. in Psychology.

Which educational program won't tear me to shreads?? Also, I have loads of compassion but get stressed easily...

Best answer goes to the one who gives me reasons why they chose or did not choose the following:

1. Radiology Technician
2. Occupational Therapy Assistant
3. Surgical Technician
4. Childbirth and Baby Care Educator
5. Nursing -ASN- RN
6. Respiratory Therapist
7. Marriage and Family Counselor
8. Child Life Specialist
9. Social Worker
