LOL, are you serious? Because they are paying you for work that you do...you can do what you like on your break and lunch times, but if you are on the clock and don't feel like you have enough to keep you busy, you should be asking your boss what else you can do.

Some people are simply control freaks!
They figure, they're paying you, you should be working.

I was a supervisor in a job in which the people were either way behind or caught up, and it changed by the hour.
When there was work to be done, my attitude was " hammer down, peddle to the metal " but when we were caught up, we were caught up! That's the way it was in my industry, and it was an accepted way of life.

Because they pay for your salary. If they see you doing nothing then it means you either are not doing your job or there is not enough work. If there is not enough work then they might eliminate the position or they might give you other jobs from other department(s).

I know how you feel. But your employers feel that time is money and if you're not working then you are wasting their money.

You must just look very attractive when you're working so they want to see you do it ALL the time.
