I had a interviiew for a great IT job with the state dept and all went well and the only salary that was discussed was they said they were pretty sure they could give me more than I am making now. Well today the HR dept called today to schedule the criminal background and drug test, the funny part is a set salary and other things haven't been discussed, do you think this will be discussed durring this time or do you think that HR already thinks that my manager has already went over these things?

I know you have to go to law school after your get your undergrad degree, but i have a few questions.

- Do you have to be a lawyer first?
- How do you become a judge?
- How long is law school?
- How many hours a week does a judge work? I'm assuming its not a 9-5 job.

Any other information you can give me would be amazing.

I've just started a new job , this is my second week, its a huge step up from where i was and i really don't want to lose it, it seems to me that one of there lead guys has it in for me and wants to see me fail. he acts like he is all for me being there but i know i am taking the position HE wants. he creates impossible situations so that i will fail, like telling me to have certain things taken care of by a certain time but neglecting to mention certain details that i need to complete the job. so things wind up not being done and he trys to say he told me everything when in fact he didnt.he is supposed to be training me for the position and as far as the owner of the company knows that's what is happening but he isn't. he leaves me out of the loop on everything so that when the owner of the company comes around and asks me simple questions about one thing or another all i can say is i don't know. this guy has been working there for years and i don't know what the owner thinks of him

I'm applying at this local clothing store and this would be my first job ever.I currently have an application in hand and it's asking me to list previous work experience as well as list 3 references. Do you think I can get by in the application without having to list any references or previous work experience since I have none whatsoever. Are those things necessary to get hired if it's your first job?

ok here's the situation .
I worked at E-Z Pass from this March till July ( 5 months ) .

I graduated last year with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree. And I am looking for a job as an entry level electrical or computer engineer or atleast a Technical Job.
But unfortunately I am weak in the dreaded "Previous experience category " - my experience with E-Z pass was actually Customer Service Representating .

Is there anyway that I can bend this position title and Time period like the following "which will make it sound more Technical than "Customer Service" and make my 5 month exp . sound like " close to a year's worth " ?

here's what i have so far
------------------
I have close to a year's worth of experience working as a Customer Service technician at E-Z Pass center in New York, where I performed analytical checks and quality assurance procedures for E-Z Pass tag products.

-----------------

I would really appreciate any help

Thanks.

Just curious. I've been unemployed/underemployed for two years. I have a long, diverse, steady work background ranging from general labor/factory experience to various office positions (clerical, proofreading, order entry/customer, etc.); I've also got really good references from former co-workers and bosess, although I kind of left my last "real" employer on bad terms (about the time my appearance issue "developed" come to think of it. I thought maybe I needed to learn new job skills or hone up on my interview skills since I'm in my late-thirties, so I returned to school to pursue a new career path; I breezed through the year-long program with a 4.0 gpa and was assured by the instructors my work skills, interview skills, etc. were very good. I've been on so many interviews where I'm qualified or over-qualified for the job and cannot seem to land anything.
By the way, the ailment I'm talking about is a benign skin condition on the side and back of my scalp that appears inflammed.

I just got back from a job interview. After the interview process they sent me for a drug test. On the paper work it stated the reason for the drug test was "post job offer"
When this was done the interviewer stated that the job was contingent with the drug test and the criminal background check results. Does this mean that the job is mine if these tests come back normal?

Currently I work as a Graphic Designer in Tucson, AZ. the job market here for my line of work isn't great and the pay at my current place of employment also isn't great. I'm looking to move out to the east coast in hopes of getting a job there and also being close to family. My problem is with the resumes I am sending out to companies out there I get no response, while if I send the same resume to jobs in my area I get plenty of response. Is it due to my location? should I move first then look for a job? Any advice in finding a job when out of state or even convincing someone to interview you even though you're not currently in state?

I left my job in Sept. 06 and would like to put something on my resume that would be appropriate so I don't have a big gap. Maybe something like Individual consultant, I haven't been employed but have done some computer work for a few people.

I'm an 18 year old male with light brown hair. My hair is currently a medium length (it's not short, nor long like a girls hair). It goes down to about the bottom of my ears and flails up around the edges all the way around. I have two job interviews coming up in a week for a retail sales associate and a key holder's position. These will be my first jobs interviews and I was thinking of ways to possibly have a better chance of getting the job. Then, it struck me. Should I get my hair cut for the interview or leave it as it is and cut it if they request it?

ive had to take off a lot of days for my 18 month daughter because she has asthma and bad allergies. There are many on top of many dr appts and just plain her being sick days. So Ive only had 3 days this year where I was sick 2-1/2 of which I was hospitalized and have Dr. excuse notes. And Ive had to use my vacation days to cover baby's dr appts and times she was sick. Now I am completely out of sick and vacation days. I know my employer is going to use this as ammunition against me so that they wont have to give me my annual raise. Is there anything I legally to cover myself in this situation and make my attendance look better?

Does anyone know the start pay right out of school?

I love being a student nurse for many reasons such as :

1, The patients

2, The staff on the wards

3, Getting experience.

It seems like I am moaning but I have assignments to do and

have to work so much like another person has to do in their

job. However when I work weekends I get no extra pay. Does

that seem fair? I think student nurses should be paid for the

job they do not a set bursary amount. I too have to pay bills

and rent to pay. But now I will need to get a part-time job to

help pay the bills. God I feel like am moaning can anyone

reassure me or is anyone going through the same thing.

Thank you
