I prepared the following scripted response for that question when I was interviewing years ago:
"I can make an excellent contribution to your company because I learn quickly, know what I am doing, and expect a lot out of myself"
As long as you don't sound like a robot you will be fine.

The best thing i think would be is to write down a list of your good qualities and another list of not so good, look at your good qualities take your best quality and you could have an answer, but it always depends on what field of employment you seek, if it something you know about or have some information of then you will know what you're capable of doing to assist in the company's success.
Another thing is to ask friends and family what qualities they recognize in you.
Normally a company want to hear things like, being punctual, quick to learn and a reliable hard worker who concentrates on the job but believes in camaraderie.
I got straight to the point with my employer by telling the interviewer... "i can tell you what most people will say thinking this is what you want to hear, like (in a droning manner, slightly sarcastic) gee i'll always be punctual and i'll never take sick days and i work really hard"....then i said..."look i won't bullshit you.. i'm here to work and work hard, to follow instruction and learn by your methods so the job is done to your specifications".

I would 1) Research the company before the interview to see what their hot buttons on needs are, 2) Pay close attention to what they say they want in their job ad or posting and 3) Early on in the interview (before they ask you this question) ask them questions that will lead you to what they want from you/the position. After that I would take your skills and experience and work them into an answer that addresses their needs.

Consider your strong options and share them. It's truly a stupid question, in my book, and I don't know why someone asks that.
This is a chance to toot your horn, however. Mention that you're a hard worker with years of applicable experience, dedicated to your job. Something along those lines.

They like numbers - you can say you increased sales by 10% at your last job and would do the same in this one. Or whatever might apply in your situation.

Just start listing your strengths and how they will apply to the particular job you are applying for.
