ok here's the situation .
I worked at E-Z Pass from this March till July ( 5 months ) .

I graduated last year with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree. And I am looking for a job as an entry level electrical or computer engineer or atleast a Technical Job.
But unfortunately I am weak in the dreaded "Previous experience category " - my experience with E-Z pass was actually Customer Service Representating .

Is there anyway that I can bend this position title and Time period like the following "which will make it sound more Technical than "Customer Service" and make my 5 month exp . sound like " close to a year's worth " ?

here's what i have so far
------------------
I have close to a year's worth of experience working as a Customer Service technician at E-Z Pass center in New York, where I performed analytical checks and quality assurance procedures for E-Z Pass tag products.

-----------------

I would really appreciate any help

Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with customer service tech, the title itself sounds technical you may however described your work in any way you can but do not change the title, employers normally check your position title from your previous work but not the job description. Regarding the time frame, you should not touch it just leave it as is.

I would say it's okay to make the customer service thing sound a little more technical, if you actually did the analytical checks etc. I would not stretch the time frame; it's more likely they will check this, and you wouldn't look good. Just make it sound like you were really good in those 5 months and are looking for something more challenging.

I agree with Grace. It is alot easier for your future employer to check how long you worked at easy pass. If you just graduated they wont be expecting you to have alot of work experience.
