It shouldn't matter, but for some people it does. You cannot go wrong by cutting it, so I would go that route.

ABSOLUTELY!! An interview is 80% about impression. Not only that, but 80% is won or lost on that initial impresion when you enter the room. How you look, how you greet them, the eye contact, the body language, ... The interview generates an impression and almost a decision in the first 30 to 120 seconds of the interview. If you were to walk in dressed and coiffed like a goth or punker and it's a retail sales job you're after, you're doomed! If you enter the room, dress and coiffed like a salesperson, your chances of getting the job increase dramatically!!
Get a haircut!!

Hey, well for your job working on bikes i don't think it would be necessary to dress up in shirt and tie and all. Like you said a decent pair of jeans and decent shirt would probably be fine. The interviewer depending on age does get a turn off by the hair. If it is long and the interviewer is over 35 their probably not going to like the hair being long. Just from past expierence older people think it is a symbol of rebellion and laziness. If you look better with short hair cut it. The problem is the interview is tomorrow. Good luck!

If you are now thinking that you should do something about your hair you need to clean it up. This shows you understand that appearance is everything - at least until someone gets to know you. In a retail situation a customer will never get to know you, so you need to look professional. Don't do anything that isn't you, but do tidy up the "flailings." Better to do it now so your hair has a chance to get over the "just cut" look in time for the interviews.
Golf claps for you forethought!

It depends a great deal on the job. I'm 30 year old male who works as a television producer. I have hair to the middle of my back, but in an artistic field, such things are sort of expected.
I do keep my hair clean, brushed, well groomed, and present a sense of pride in my appearance. That is the most important thing no matter what your hair length.
If you don't want to cut it yet, I would wait until they asked you to cut it. Depending on the store they may like having an edgier looking sales associate.
Most important is that you look clean, confident, and well groomed.

Retail management like for their employees to be neat and this means a hair cut. It would make a better impression on your interviewer if you come to the interview in pressed shirt, slacks, tie, nice shoes, and a haircut or at least a trim to make it neat. if you have facial hair, make sure it is trimmed. Have your teeth clean, and smile and be friendly. You will have the appearance of management material in the making.

Yes, part of being a professional is looking like a professional. And, think about the people doing the hiring. That want someone who will represent their business with a proper look. A job as a lawyer will require one look. A job as a trash man may require a different look. But don't underestimate the look. If you look sharp, the HR people will believe you to be sharp.

some interviewers will care - some will not.
make sure you are well groomed and that your hair is neat and clean.
if you think it looks messy in any way, a bit of a trim might be in order - but that doesn't mean you need to cut it like you have just joined the military.

Most people, especially the older generations, prefer to see young men with short hair and tidy appearances. Somehow, they think of long hair as unkempt. It might make a good impression to them if you have a short and tidy hairstyle.

I suggest you get a straight cut at or below ear level so the ends are not curling up all over the place. Would look much neater & more professional.
