What classes should I take in order to apply for this job? I need a job while I go through nursing. I wanna be an O.R Nurse and I feel like this is one job that I would be interested in while going to school. Any recommendations on what classes to take? or do i need some kind of certification?

From a legal standpoint, what do you think of an employer stating on a review that an employee's personal life has affected thier attitude, temper and overall performance? What about labeling someone as playing "the victim?"

Well I got my degree in commerce. I hated accounting with a passion and thought that I would do a trade. I did floor laying/tile setting in the summers.

So I'm an electrician. I am a helper but I already took my 1st year schooling and by the time I'm an apprentice(3 months probation) I will be up 600 hours, half of my first year hours. My plan in my degree was to start my own business. The average age of an electrician here is 50 so most of them are going to be retiring soon so the opportunities are there. They also bill $70/hr plus materials and markup.

So they promised 8 hour days and benefits. Well I am 400 hours into it and work 40 hours overtime a month with no time and a half ever(In my contract), no benefits ever(Also in my contract), and $4 less an hour than other employers. Will it look bad if I quit right after the 3 month mark and I get my apprentice papers signed? I need the reference but the employer lies constantly and everyone hates thier jobs.

I dread work

I have been looking for jobs like crazy. I currently work for Staples and I want to work somewhere else that's paying more. I've been on CareerBuilder and HotJobs but I am getting tired of searching there. Most jobs I look at want 2 or 3 yrs plus experience or degree. I am still in college for goodness sake. I've been looking for administrative/secretarial positions but the experience is like a list. I live in Northern Virginia which is very expensive and I need a job that will support me. Any advice.

I work in an office in southeast Texas (40 miles outside Beaumont) and pay day is every Friday. My boss is occasionally late with pay checks but I really needed them on time this month because of my bills. This month, he went over the line.

Now, he owes me two pay checks. But worse, when he didn't pay me a few weeks ago, it bounced my electric and phone bill in the bank several times and is costing me an extra $160 plus for bank fees, and all of this is 100% due to my boss not paying me. My boss says he isn't going to help with the bank fees due to his neglect.

I am wondering if this is illegal for my boss to do? I never bounced in the bank before till now and it is because of my boss not paying me. Shouldn't he be responsible for this and the money he STILL owes me?

Who do I contact about this? Surely employees have some rights somewhere? Any information would be great. Thanks so much.

Specifically, the present employer can see the job searches on the job search sites and routinely looks. If he sees my name on there, I would most likely be fired on the spot. I am not happy, and feel trapped. I asked this question before and received an answer about not doing it from work. It does not matter where I put my resumes in if he looks on the job site. What to do?

I am during a survey regarding men and women in the work force. Please include your gender and age in your answer. I would like to find out in the answers if male and female opinions vary as to whether more is expected from women in the work force as opposed to men. I'm sure I will get some interesting answers and look forward to getting as many answers as I can get. Thank you in advance. Lori.

After a couple of years of looking finally found a job in an ideal city about five months ago. Saw an ad for what may be my dream job, a job I'm highly qualified for. I'm just worried about not being considered due to the short time I've been with my present company. Is there anything I might do to my resume to make it sound a little better, maybe a comment at the bottom? Thanks.

Also on the Jetsons, George complained about the 3 day workweek killing him. Or working til 3:00 PM being killer on him.

Do you think it will come someday? Robots will do more work for us and we won't have to work as much and get more freetime in the future.

I was just asked to do data entry work for a local cemetery. They need me to input all of their records into a program that I created. They need ALL of them put into this database. There is over 16,000 entries to be made. I know one of the people who works for the cemetery and I do not want to charge too much but with all of the time and work that I going to have to put into this to get the job done and in a timely manner. Please only serious responses.

I'm in a situation where I've been leapfrogged by a co-worker. He gets a lot more responsibility than me, although I have been there longer. He also asks for my assistance, and I feel like I'm a being a sucker by lending it to him. He gets the credit for the work, even if I figured out the problem. Should I stop helping him when he asks for help, as I am in competition with him for advancement?

I just started a new job as a hostess at a restaurant and after I got home I started to cry wondering if I had made a mistake. I want to quit sooooo badly but I don't know if I should. Would it be a little rude to do so after only working there for a few days. Another problem with this is that my best friend works there too and she pretty much got me the job. I need help now. What should I do??????
