I interviewed for a sales position on Aug. 28th and they told me they would be in touch. I called back a week later and they said they would be making their decision that week. After not hearing back from them a week later, I emailed them with no response back. What should I do now?

Hi all

I want to work for a company that has offices in both Richmond and Washington. Can you tell me why would be better to go for the Richmond office and not the DC one, if at all?

I am filling out an employment application for a company from which I had received a job offer. One of the questions they ask me is to explain any gaps in my employment history. I have had one (for 7 month) 2 years ago, for very personal and tragic reasons, major life changing experiences, and relocation. How do I state it in the application, without having to recap everything that had happened to me?

Appreciate your help!

I've only work here for two months and a women (in her 40's) has done everything and everything from telling the bosses wife I don't answer the phone correctly to with holding information I need about customers. It is savatoge. Well, my boss noticed it and agree that she is setting me up to fail. This women has been here for years, so they must have know for a long time because this is not the first time she has done this to someone. Now, my boss wants me to come up with a tangible list of things he can present her with. All of the things she has done are so petty and childish, I'm not sure I feel comfortable discussing them. Not to mention once they persent them to her it will just make things worse. How should I handle this situation?

My cousin is 26 years old. She has been changing job every years. She is now working as a social worker helping people with mental health problem for 9 months. She wants to quit her job again because she want to work for refuge camps agency. This is her last year in Grad Program. She is going to be busy with school, therefore, I told her to hang on to her job until graduate.

She did not want to take my suggestion. She thinks I am old fashion---I am very royal to my organization. I have been working at the same company for 3 years. I do not want to change my job until I will finish my degree.

Do you think it is a good idea to change jobs constantly? Will employer hire someone like me or my cousin?

Thank you so much for your kindness. Have a wonderful day.

Hi,

I am considering a job offer from Brisbane but do not have much information about Australia. Can someone please help me get started by answering (and ideally also providing useful URL's) the following questions:

1) In order of preference (cost of living being one of the key reasons, weather another reason) can you please list the Australian cities that you would recommend

2) What is a good salary for someone with about 10 years of experience in IT? What would be the ballpark salary figure that I should negotiate for?

3) What are the key perks/benefits that I should negotiate for?

4) Does having/not having Australian citizenship have any impact on the salary?

I'll be very thankful for a quick reply.

Thanx.

UNDER TEXAS LAW:

lets say that at the beginning of a job the employer gives you the employee handbook to sign, meaning that you agree to the terms, and in that handbook it states that if you come out short in the sales that you did, the employer will simply deduct that amount from your paycheck...if you (as the employee) sign it, does it still make it legal for the employer to do that?

i heard that it was illegal for an employer to do that? if it is illegal, by you signing does it make it legal for the employee to do that? but an employee handbook cant overrule a state law...

I live in Toronto, just finished a phone interview.

I knew I had to relocate going into the interview, but the interview went well, and two more are schedule, one is to discuss my exact position, the other is to fly to Australia for a face to face.

I currently work as an analyst, my position there would be branch manager or customer service manager, my salary would almost double, but I would be living in SE Asia....I am 25, have no kids, just my car, which I want to take with me, but probably have to sell.....

How far would you relocate for a job? And should I do it? I am really leaning towards yes.

Please help me with my career, what to do with my working life...?

My heart is very heavy right now. I have just talked with my employer and it seems I haven't been doing a satisfactory job.

Please, I ask for some sound, heartfelt advice. I have been hopping from one job to another, about six jobs in two years, the least is two months and ten months at max (whch was the first one, next to that is six months).

I do know I am not dumb. I am almost sure that when I get really motivated and challenged I enjoy a task. But my job choices so far have left me in a rut, often dissatisfying my employers and disappointing myself. I do not know. I do not know if I am supposed to enjoy a job, or do i already enjoy it...or do i hate it but stick on, but ends in work they don't like.

My biggest fear is to discover and realize I'm good for nothing.

The obvious path, they say, is to go with what I love doing. However, I think my problem is not identifying what it is I want to do. Its pathetic yes,

Well.. I've been working at a crisis shelter for runaway teens for 2 years. I've basically mastered my job in that time, getting promoted to shift supervisor. A few months ago they hired a new guy, took away 2 of my shifts, and gave them to him. Thus taking away my right to my medical benefits (not enough hours). Two more shifts are opening up, and they aren't sure who they will give them to.

Facts about my coworker:
-He only has an associates, and has minor training
-is a no call/ no show often, and is usually late.
And the reason why they give him shifts is because he has a six year old son that he can't financially support.

So if they take these away from me as well, should I quit? Am I overreacting?

I am unemployed and I am looking for work. I have applied for jobs but the only thing employers tell me is they don't have openings just yet. I have been told if you want to get hired, you have to keep going almost everyday of the week until you wear the employers down to the point they go ahead and give you the job. I hate to be a pest and bother people after they already told me they don't have openings at the moment and to be patient and wait a few weeks. Should I go ahead and keep bugging them until they hire me?

i'm sorry, what i need are not the ones that make me do a survey or offer anything or sell. as a house wife, whom i am bound to stay at home due to some health issues, my previous work was an english teacher, so i'm wondering if there are on line teaching careers out there or anything related. like writing articles, checking grammars, maybe even secretarial or typing jobs. which are definitely LEGITIMATE ones. but please, no selling, no doing surveys, or offering anything to anyone. sorry...i just need some help so i can help my husband in return with our finances. thank you so much!
