I thought I was "too old" going back to college for my nursing degree at 25. LOL

The oldest member of my graduating class was well into her 50s (she might have even been 60 by the time we graduated).

Actually, especially in the 2 year programs, there are a lot more older students than you would expect. I was surprised - I figured it would be mostly young people, right out of high school or darn close. But it totally wasn't at all. Nursing programs are really diverse in their student populations.

Everyone else is right. . . it will be 2012 whether you become a nurse or not. You ask a lot of questions about nursing, it sounds like it's what you really want to do. Just get to work, you know you want to! :)

Good luck!

NO WAY! My bf has been in school for about 8 years now because he worked a full-time job that requires a lot of overtime and can only take one or two classes a semester. I made him quit his job and become a CNA and he makes less than half of what he used to make, but has the time to take classes. He will be an LPN soon and make more $$. Then he will stay in school and be an RN at age 38.

Baby boomers are starting to leave the workforce and they will need to be replaced. They are already desperate for all medical personnel and this will just open even more opportunities. (So, its not like in four of five years all the jobs will be gone.)

Stick with it! It will pay off!

Too late for what? Like someone else said, 2012 will come and either you'll be an RN or you won't. Better get started now, or it will be after 2012 before you get your degree. There is plenty of demand for nurses in the job market. They haven't figured out yet how to get someone in Asia to take care of you here.

Will it be too late if you don't get your associate degree in nursing and become an RN in the year 2012? It is going to be 2012 regardless, the only variable here is whether you will be an RN or not.

If you have it early 2012 you can use it for a few month's. Don't you know that the world is going to end Dec. of 2012. I thought everyone knew this. Read your m-calander everyone has one and it doesn't go past dec. of 2012. So enjoy your RN status for a few month's and we will see you on the flip side.

IT will not be too late. Remember there are a small percentage of jobs that will always be around. Lucky for you being an RN is one of those jobs.

Work steadily towards your dream. Do the best that you can. If you won't be finished until 2012, then its 2012.

I assume that you are studying part time? Anyway, don't worry....it will be fine.
