You can do one of two things....require it or ask for volunteers. If you are expecting resistance, what I would do is gather the group together and explain the situation. I would tell them (assuming everybody is qualified to do whatever needs to be done during the overtime hours) how many warm bodies I needed and then, that I would first want volunteers who would like to work the overtime and make the extra money. If you don't get enough people that way, tell them, unfortunately, that you will have to require some people to be there that wouldn't otherwise choose to be.
Don't fret about things like this. Being in management means that you are paid to make decisions in the best interests of the company that are not always going to be popular. If you want to be popular, go back into the rank and file. If you want to manage, then sometimes you have to have a backbone.

You are the boss. Tell them that overtime with extra pay is available and you would like them to work it. Unless your firm has a mandatory overtime policy all you can do is ask. Most likely someone will want the extra cash.

ask them nicely but tell them you'll pay them off the clock or triple time. dont try and be the heavy, dont make threats about "hiring somebody who will do the overtime, its not a legal obligation for anyone to do overtime unless stated in a signed contract. 37.5 hours is the legal maximum full time employess are required to work.

Most people happy to work some paid overtime. Only time its a pain is when its really short notice! More likely if adequate notice is given!

By sitting them down and asking. Honesty is the only way of managing. Pointing out that Christmas is round the corner is good as well.
