Relax and enjoy your new assignment. If it doesn't work out, then another door will open for you.

I just started a job 7 months ago and although I have been working 15 years, I was nervous. I wanted to be good at my job. So, it is natural to be nervous. If it does not work out, then it was not/ and will not be a good fit for you and you should move on and look for another job and learn from the experience. Nobody is perfect at their job on day 1. You acquire new skills and pick up good habits when you want to be a good employee and sounds like you want to be good at your job. Get a good night sleep and look forward to a new begining tomorrow and walk through those doors with a confident smile and let the training begin. Good Luck!

My daughter has done a lot of temp. work, both as an Admin. Assistant and as a Receptionist. She would tell you that as an Admin. Assistant, you have all the skills and more that you will need to be a receptionist.
Be pleasant; be professional. Smile, even when you are talking to someone on the phone. They will hear your smile.
I know you will be great. You've already done this kind of work, and juggled other things at the same time. This will be a cake walk.

I was in that position a while back. I was nervous too. I didn't know if I can do it or not. My friends kept on telling me that I passed the interview and that means the employer thought I can do it. I did my best and they liked my work. Take good notes when they are training you. Listen very carefully and ask questions if you are unclear about anything. It's better to look stupid now by asking questions than acting smart now then end up messing things up. By the way, asking questions is not stupid. Some people think it is stupid but I don't think it is. Have fun!

Everyone gets nervous the first day on the job. Relax, I'm sure you'll do just fine. Most employers will cut you a little slack the first week or two, because you're still learning the job and the employer knows it, so don't be nervous, it will be okay.

Get plenty of sleep and be prepared for a hectic day .
Do NOT get snappy with a caller because you are on overload .
Try to maintain a friendly and courteous manner ,
Regardless of what comes down the turnpike .
It is just reception , You are not working in a nuclear laboratory .

Things that don't work out are not meant to be. Its that simple. You came to that job looking . You will leave that job looking.
Always remember that motto and you will never be afraid of being fired or quitting.
Just remember to write everything down :)
Most of All
Good Luck
