That depends on your employer. Some do pay extra for holidays. And it depends on the holiday too - for Columbus Day, probably not - if it was Thansgiving or Christmas, most would but they don't have to. If they do pay extra, it's usually time and a half or double time.

Holiday pay is according to state law and or company policy. If its a normal working day, are you working part time, are you in the emergency services field. many factors. But usually holiday pay is time and a half. So if you were getting holiday pay your $7.50 an hour would change to $11.25 an hour.

Most companies will pay - time and a half - for over 40 hours and holidays, but it does depend on the company's policies.
I've worked for companies that the holiday fell within the 40 hours and only received regular pay.

Whatever the state you live in it should be double time, but depends on what holiday it is and if the company observes that holiday. Columbus day is not really a holiday everyone observes but Christmas is.

IF your hiring contract or the company policy says so .
All companies are different and you are asking in the WRONG place ,
We have no idea of who your company even is .
What does your contract say ?
What does the company pay policy say ?
Ask your supervisor .
