I know if you do really good on some first interviews you get an offer at that interview but what about ones that they take some time think about hiring you before they hire you and also ones that give a second interview later on.

you work for a supplier of medical equipment. your sales manager informs you that he wants you to capture a certain hospital account. he also tells you to put on your expense account anything it costs to sedcure the firm as a client. when you ask him to be more specific, he tells you to use your own judgment. up to this time you have never questioned your sales managers personal code of ethics. make a list of the items you believe can be legitimately charged to the company on your expense account.

I work in a department at a law firm with a woman who can only be described as a BULLY. She has a rep around this town wherever she has worked as a Bully, and has been disciplined at her last firm for always bullying the other staff members she worked with, and trying to always pick out the easiest work to do so that her work always looks perfect. And, then complaining to managment because the other staff members more difficult projects have minor problems.

Sadly, this woman came to this firm with a phony letter of reference and the office manager and supervisor did not call and check out her background at her last law firm.
I tried to talk to the office manager about this problem & she told me, you had better get alone with her, because "her work is perfect" (not tru& she comes with sterling recommendations. (Which, of course I know to be untrue). I am just at a quandry as to what to do to handle this. I am 66 years old and have to work 3 more years & need the job

My husband just quit a salary job in Ga. to accept a new job in our home state of Tn. He turned in a two week notice and his boss in Ga gave him a week off with pay to think about staying. In the middle of that week he called and asked him to go to a company in Tn to help with some quality issues. It was 3 hours one way to get there & 3 hrs back, plus 6 hours to help with the problem. It took two days to settle the problem. Now, the old company has refused to pay him for the entire last week he worked, saying they didn't owe him any vacation because he took off that week with pay, and his job ended on a Wednesday. If he was a salary employee can they do this? When employeed with them there were days he worked 6 days a week without overtime, but now they are trying to say they broke down his weekly salary to just the three days he worked. Where can I go online to get more info about this?

A picture of an ex-employee was taken from a co-worker of mine by her Boss. The Boss instructed her that "We do not talk to ex-employees". When she requested to have her picture returned to her the Boss flat out told her "NO".

What rights does she have under Federal Employee Law? Is this considered theft?

My dream has always been to write. I am currently an English major and write regularly. My husband and I decided that if I could make $30,000 or more in one year freelancing part time around my full time job, part time school and family, that I would leave my crappy job and freelance full time. Is this possible?

Looking for some HR people - or anyone who has knowledge - to chime in on this. I'm wondering how easy it is for someone to get away with listing a bachelors degree that they haven't received on their resume. Does the HR department at a large company, such as Sprint or Comcast, usually verify a job candidates degree? Is there a difference if it is an executive or non-executive position the candidate is applying for? Thanks.

The reason I ask, is that I was layed off a couple of years ago, after working for 26 years straight (not necessarily for the same company). That forced me to hunt for new employment which took about 2 1/2 months, however the new employer ended up paying far more than my previous employer.

I'm just wondering if this is a common occurence. Maybe getting layed off forces you to find a better opportunity?
