I work @ a hotel and each day we run 1 laundry, 1 breakfast, 1 front desk and right now 1 housekeeper cuz it's usually slow. the other day we were busy with 64 rooms out of a total 68. On any reg. day the breakfast guy will help with laundry, but on this day he decided not to help at all. He didn't help strip rooms, wash, or fold. He even told the laundry lady he was glad it wasn't his prob. Well wehn she said something to the boss he told her "well did you ask him for help". She said no, so he told her it was her prob and that she should have asked if she didn't like it she knew where to find the door. I think it's totally bogus and any decent human being would have helped her out. I wasn't here on that day or I would have helped obviously. Anyway was just curious as to other opinions on the situation.

My boss is never ever at work. Ever. She calls in 4-5 days a month. She gave herself a hefty raise and told us there was no money in the budget to give any of us a raise. She is making at least 20 grand more then the next person up, and the rest of us are paid dirt. I work in a Chamber of Commerce so she doesnt have another boss. Just the board and they dont really know/care what goes on. What can I do without risk of losing my job?

I am looking for a new job, but they are hard to come by. I do have a degree, so I know I wont be stuck here forever. THis situation just erks me.

I have been for 2 Interviews for my Dream Job and I was Invited in to do a few hours work to see if I enjoyed it and to have a chat with the Manager.

I was told I would have a answer by Today as they had other people to see, I have just had a phone call to say that the lady who will make the Final Judegement is in a meeting and so it has been Prolonged to Monday.

I dont know if this is a good thing or I f I am just being kept on a string, like a donkey with a carrot! Hehe

I really want this job, its such a good oppurtunity and the manager is lovely and so are the other girls in the office.

I dunno what to do, cant bear the thought of having to wait all weekend!!

Why do you think this is happening??

I have several tattoo's on my arms (and other locations) and work in a professional financial office, I am in sales. My boss has asked me on several occasions to wear long sleeve shirts to cover them even though I am a top producer. What gives?

Do you put your grades for your exams on your cv? I am wondering as I didn't get amazing grades and feel this would put employers off. Also a agency I signed up with said the employer just would like to know what Exams you passed and do not need to know the grades. What do you think? Any employers advice welcome too.

Someone told me they heard that Starbucks offers insurance for part-time employees, but I don't know if this is true or really where to look to find out if it's true. Does anyone know? I wanted to go back to school so a part-time job with medical benefits would be really ideal. Thanks.

I got a job working with my dad. I promised him i would stay here for at least a year. The problem is...I hate it. It is really far away from my house and I really can't stand my co-worker. I dont know what to do. I am stressed out and find myself bursting into tears all the time. I know that I can get a better job closer to home that pays more but my dad just had triple bypass and i dont want to stress him out... Please any suggestions are welcome.

I have been a temp since 10/30/06 and everytime I talk to HR to discuss me becoming permanent, I hear some complaint that my boss never brought to my attention. For a while I thought it was someone else on my team talking to HR but then that person left and I found out it was my boss. I have worked my butt off to make him happy. I admit that I am not perfect but I really try very hard. Recently, before his last chat with HR, I asked him if there was anything he wanted to discuss or any problems he wanted to address. He looked me right in the eye and said "No, not at all". I said "So we're good?" and he said Yes!. A few days ago, I spoke with HR and she has a list of gripes he reported to her but NEVER discussed with me. Now I am being moved to another dept., if there is space. HR didn't want to tell me but she felt bad. He has no idea HR told me and he has not said anything to me on his own. I have 2 kids to support and he knows that. Should I talk to him about this or keep shut?

What sort of goals does your employer make you do?
How long are those goal periods?
How much extra time are you supposed to spend on completing your goals?
What is the successful completion rate of goals overall at your employer or department?
Do you feel these goals benefit you? Or do you feel they are a waste of time?

How would you advertise this...
WHAT SHOULD I WRITE???...

Mothers’ day is coming (May 13th, America) , please tell me, is this a good idea, I sell Avon and my brother gave me this idea... (He said it would work for the men who just don't know what to get... and the men who work too late to go shopping...) make gift baskets... and do a "build your own basket" or a “You pick the price” where you tell me what you want in the basket and I put it together. And charge...

Ex.
Small basket: $2.50 plus the cost of the Avon products.
Medium basket: $3.50 plus the cost of the Avon products.
Large basket: $4.50 plus the cost of the Avon products.

Do you think this would work???

would it work in a small town???

PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT TO WRITE!!!!

Don't you think they are wholey inadequate and pointless? Would it not be best to get us into the local police station for 5 mins and run our finger prints through their computer? Surely that's the only way they will find any real criminals who want to work with young people/ vulnerable adults?
I wouldn't object.

I'm 15 and I want a lot of things out of life. I want to start looking in to things now, instead of waiting until the last minute. I want to serve other people. I thought about being a cop [and advancing up to a detective], a paramedic, a civil rights lawyer, and doctor. I want to be able to travel with my job. I also want to make a decent income. Any suggestions?? Thanks

I need some suggestions.
I have slept in for my 8.30 shift, I woke up at 1pm which meant I missed the entire shift,
I answered my phone messages which is one of my managers askibg if I was ok and wanting to know hy I dodnt come in or phone in sick and could I give them a curtosy call back. I have ,missed shifts like this before and I will need a decent excuse or I will get fired.

I work in retail and dont know what to ntell them. I slep in is not going top go down well. I will be in for my next shift on sunday so I need a decent excues that will cover me for today until sunday and will have kept me from phoning in this morning.

(the real reason is because I have insomnia nd havent slept more than 4 hours for the last week and a half, but I know my work wont accept this as a reason and if they worry about me turning up again they may give my shift to some one else and I may end up doing a shift where the work is later on in the day and far more boaring.)

I'm planning on going back to college, but I'm still trying to decide what to master to get in order to earn more. Please no answers like "take what you enjoy, thats what counts," or "money shouldn't be I drive for more school, learning should be the reason." That mickey-mouse bullsh*t doesn't pay the bills. (plus I screwed up and followed that advice, and got a B.A. in English).
