i give them a card and sometimes some money for them to go treat themselves with or some small little thing. it depends though on how long they've been married. btw, i'm only a teen.
peace

1) Why would you give them a gift? Although it's kind of you to be so thoughtful, you weren't there (presumably) when they got married...this is their celebration, not yours.
2) If it's a milestone anniversary (25th, 50th) and there will be a party or celebration, than a gift may be appropriate. You can find a list on line (hallmark.com has one) of the "traditional" gifts for each anniversary year - paper, wood, glass, silver, and so on.) Get creative...a gift for a "wood" year might be some new camping equipment (for the trip to the woods, get it?); a paper year might be a gift certificate.

Lots of things!!!
I generally like to give "many little things" - that is waht a child does to its parents - on this day you dont need to be a mature responsible person and give them "expensive things"
Make a nice "gift package" and include lots of things that also depends on your capacity:
Make it personal, loving and caring
A hand made card - write a few lines as to why you value them.....
then:
1. New clothes
2. Some personal cosmetics - perfume, lotions, oils etc
3. Definitely a dinner for two - or if they like a family outing all go out for dinner or snack
4. See what personal items need a makeover like your dad watch needs a strap / perhaps your mothers hand bag needs to be looked at / or just ur dads glasses / moms favorite magazine needs a subscription / mom needs a stove / dad needs a bulb replaced in his bike or car - this shows them u really really care and are sensitive to their needs
5. Never give parents cash as gift - they will never spend it on themselves...
One more thing by giving many gifts you are also not disappointing them - they may love all or some but on the other hand.... one expensive gift and if they dont like it all are disappointed.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only family would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

What anniversary is it? Like 25th, or some milestone, you can look online for what to get. Like...I don't know for sure, but it something like 25th is silver, so you would get them something silver. 10th is paper, so you would get them something paper, like stationary with their names on it. Or just a card and a gift card to their favorite restaurant would work too. I'm sure they would just appreciate you remembering the day.
