I am applying for the administrative assistant position in an art museum which requires bachelor degree. It is a very desirable position for liberal studies studet like me, what can I do to make myself stand out? If I just send out the resume, I'm sure I won't hear anything from them at all. Besides, it is a pretty big and well funded museum and the job I am applying for is a full time position, what salary would I expect to ge paid?

next week. The meeting is being held by someone who is not my immediate manager but is a manager.A colleague who has pretty much made my life hell has put in an informal grievance against me because i think she has been tipped off that i visited the staff counsellor.

How can i get my point across professionally without looking like a trouble maker or making anymore unecessary enemies.

I am 16 years old and work at a restaraunt as a dishwasher - I keep telling myself that this is only temporary until I become a host at said restaraunt, but I get the feeling that due to sexism with those kind of positions, that a girl will get the job before me.

Anyhow, I work from 5:00 p.m. well into the night, usually not getting off until 12:30 or even 1:00 in the morning. I work only 2 nights a week but these nights seem to go by so ridiculously slow.

How can I make these 8-hour nights go by faster? It's so hard for a 16-year-old to go to school all day and then have to come to work and scrub dishes for such a long period of time. What can I do to get through these nights, and how can I make them go by miraculously fast?

Also, how can I make the days I'm NOT working go by really slow?

I'm thinking of getting into cruise ship photography to save up, but I hear it's slave work. How's the work like? The life? And I'm a girl, so does that make it harder for me?

Female H.R.are attracted to me too much in the beginning. Then, I guess they dont want to get hurt emotionally or something, because other guys have hurt them like that. So, they dig to try to find faults with me. Im just a normal guy. People have told me im good looking. Should I try to look "unattractive" for interviews?

I have applied for a couple of jobs lately that have required some personality test or another. I took the AMPM test online, which was very similar to the ones the employees gave, and it said I was a "non-conformist."

Am I unemployable outside of academics?

I`m now working in education and enjoying my job. Two years ago I got a new boss and he`s a revelation a bit of a showman but deadly honest and unafraid to show his true colours. In the past I`ve experienced the dregs of management the little tin gods who think they are it .
Get your own back lets hear some of your horror stories of bosses you`ve crossed swords with ?

I applied for a job with a specific company about three days ago. Just now, I was continuing with my job search on Monster.com as I do everyday, and the exact job that I applied to through the company website is posted there. Now, I am on monster.com everyday and I've never seen the company post there. Ever. So should I apply again? Or would that be redundant? Any advice please, thanks.

I have to write my aspirations for my job and I dont know what to write! I want to write something meaningful... but my muse is gone.. Can anyone help me? These are the questions:

1. Describe your short and long-term career aspirations, including timing if applicable. Consider possible positions, experiences, activities, and any interest in cross-divisional, cross-functional, or international assignments.

2. Write your Key Strengths. They are the competencies, skills and behaviors that have contributed to your positive impact on the business.

3. Write your Key Development Needs. They are the critical skills and behaviors that enhance your performance and foster growth for current and/or future roles. Key Experiences Needed are those guided on-the-job developmental experiences (and other experiences such as task forces) that are needed to accelerate your development and help you reach your long-term potential.

I really REALLY hate my job. My boss is the biggest jerk on the planet. I have been looking around for something else and have a follow up interview at this one place next week. So...my boss just completely insulted me (AGAIN). I don't deserve to be treated like this and I can't take it anymore. I am seriously considering just leaving. What the heck should I do??

I am looking round for another job, but there don't seem to be many out there in my field. It's certainly gonna take a while to find another one, and I can't afford to just up and leave or go and take agency work.

How can I keep my sanity in the meantime? Anyone got any tips on how to make the hours I spend there more bearable?

I'm a recent graduate, and I'm interested in working in an entry-level position in the entertainment industry (specifically marketing or advertising). I have work experience in marketing, and I've sent out resumes and cover letters to postings found on websites ... but so far I've only received one response.

Is it better to mail/fax my resume directly to the HR department of companies? I'm afraid my resume isn't even read if I send it by email or submit it through their company website.

Am I legally required to provide prior pay information to a potential employer? I don't think so but want to know for sure, and think this is probably the reason I get low-balled on each job offer. I would rather negotiate the pay-rate.

My boss is really starting to piss me off. Everytime I send her an email that benefits her, she responds within the day. But when I send her an email about some issues more about me like money problems, and how will taking a certain program affect my pay she chooses to ignore my email and not respond directly to my question. It really ticks me off. Does your boss do the same thing?
