My boss is never ever at work. Ever. She calls in 4-5 days a month. She gave herself a hefty raise and told us there was no money in the budget to give any of us a raise. She is making at least 20 grand more then the next person up, and the rest of us are paid dirt. I work in a Chamber of Commerce so she doesnt have another boss. Just the board and they dont really know/care what goes on. What can I do without risk of losing my job?

I am looking for a new job, but they are hard to come by. I do have a degree, so I know I wont be stuck here forever. THis situation just erks me.

I was just always glad when my boss WASN'T around lol...hey think of it as a good thing if she's not looking over your shoulder. I think alot of people in our society make money for doing nothing. Hey look at our government in general! They give themselves pay raises all of the time and what do they really get accomplished???

Wow, I am in the same situation with my boss! Just keep looking for a new job, and if you cant report her, just think of how nice it will be when everything catches up to her! Since I dont really know how Chambers of Commerces work I dont really have a great answer for you. Good luck!!

Not much unfortunately. After all, she is the boss and you don't know what sort of agreement she has with the board. Just keep looking for a job and brush it off. Don't let work ruin your mood

Just remember what they say about paybacks.

I got the green weenie from a boss. I found a job elsewhere. About two years later, his company went out of business and he applied where i worked, and game ME for a reference. The VP asked me what I thought about him. I was honest with the VP, and they didn't hire him.

Yes, what comes around goes around.

Ask a local news station if this is ethical. I'd like to see the look on your bosses face when she's suddenly surrounded by reporters and cameras asking her where all the money went. and the best part is, she'll ever know it was you. cheers!

The news media does have good uses now and then. ☺
