Do you put your grades for your exams on your cv? I am wondering as I didn't get amazing grades and feel this would put employers off. Also a agency I signed up with said the employer just would like to know what Exams you passed and do not need to know the grades. What do you think? Any employers advice welcome too.

It depends on the exams. If you are talking GCSEs and A levels and you have recently passed them (say, within the last 5 years) then yes, employers will want to see your grades. If you have been in the job market working for about 5 yrs or so then its not so important to put the individual grades on. If your grades are not so good why not take an evening class to brush up in those areas, and to show perspective employers that you are using your initiative and trying to improve your options?

Good luck!!!

Depends if you are going for a job that relates to any of the subjects you have studied. I didn't do very well in my GCSEs so when filling the 'Education' part of a job application or when writing my CV I put the subject names and just that I studied them at GCSE level.

In my previous job I was dealing with the recruitment process and interviewing people. I think grades are the last thing I would look at. It's more important to sell your personal atributes than to focus on grades etc.

Hope this helps!

nah employers don't care as long as you passed. And you can just mention that you pased during the interview. Those exams and grades are mostly for applying to grad schools and so on. The only number you put in your cv is GPA.

If you just say you have PASSES in the following subjects, that looks fine and most employers are keen to know that you did get a pass and not really interested in what level you achieved.

Good luck!

what country are all of you from??? what is the GCSE??? in the US, it is generally accepted if you put your GPA on your resume if you are a recent graduate... after 3-5 years of working experience, no one really cares about what type of grades you had in college (unless you are applying for roles in the academic arena)...

it is always interesting to hear what other countries do with their cv's and resumes... i know in some parts of asia, they put their picture, height, weight, family situation and a background in their resume/cv... interesting.

You would not put in actual grades, in fact you wouldn't even mention grades unless you made the honors list, or deans list. And then you would lightly mention the fact of making the list.

It's only necessary if it's part of the job spec. Otherwise " 2 A-levels and 7-GCSEs including English and Maths" will do nicely.

Only put them on if it will help. If you don't have great results, then no point putting them on... a cv is meant to help you land a job. Good luck!
