If you have a college degree or (are working on one) I strongly recommend you apply for a wholesale banking training program within a bank.

Wells Fargo has a training program called "FAP" Finanacial Analyst Program. I know Bank of America does something similar.

If you start off as a teller, it will take YEARS to move anywhere.

Yes, this is one way to start w/o a college degree. This will give you the understanding of the banking industry. Also, you should go to college parttime and major in finance.
