This week, I have witnessed the deaths of 2 kinds of wild animals in backyards.

Situation 1: At my house on the patio, there was a mother bird building a nest inside of my grill. After like 2 weeks after she had built it, I looked on my patio like 2 days ago and there I saw the baby birds dead, on the patio, underneath the grill and the grill had been shifted a little.

Situation 2: I was watching my friend's dog and let her outside as usual, but this time I found her carrying some baby squirrels in her mouth and she had thrown several of them from their nest and crushed their bones shedding blood.

I am devastated by these events, twice in one week. I hate to see animals harmed. I'm not superstitious, but what could this mean??? Why something so tragic??

Both Matthew "World Church of the Creator" Hale and Kent "Dr. Dino" Hovind grew up in East Peoria.

Relatives of mine lived there briefly, and I visited them twice. It didn't seem like a haven for nuts; did I just miss that?

Is it just a weird circumstance that these two came from the same small town, or is there something about East Peoria that makes this less surprising?

And, if you aren't from the Heart of Illinois - can you think of any other small town with a similar pair of less-than-favorite sons?

I think so, and I think it's important, complacency and idleness are dangerous.

I am catholic born and raised. Last year I had the most horrible year by far. I got laid off and got sick, had to be hospitalized and had to undergo 2 surgeries. But what reallly hurt was the end of a relationship with my ex boyfriend. When we were together, he was suicidal and depressed and I tried to get him help and was there for him and helped him through all his difficult times. I found out he had a child with someone before we met and he was ashamed and wanted nothing to do with them, this was before we met. She was someone he barely knew, it happened and he said it was a mistake. I could tell it bothered him everyday, so I told him that it wasn;t that bad abnd he should get to know his daughter, but it was his choice. He finally agreed and met his daughter and he was so happy. But I found out also he was getting to know the mother of his child and he ended our relationship. What was worst was I knew this girl was not the girl he thought she was, and he turned on me

A couple of months ago, I swore an oath on my soul that i would never do something again but then I did it anyway. I later got to thinking about and have been worried ever since. I've asked for forgiveness but am I still able to go to heaven?

Do you think they are any different than the religious leaders that Jesus was so vocal about when he was on earth?Do you think some religion is too legalistic today? Do you think it misses the whole point of Christianity?

I know this sounds a bit like one of those loaded questions that are often asked here, but I would sincerely like to know how one can reconcile the two positions.

Isn't killing always wrong, no matter who it is, what they have done, or where they are?

Its not hard to find a scriptural argument against abortion. Nor is it hard to find passages that seem to condone capital punishment. But I think that the words and teachings of Christ override anything previously said about capital punishment. Jesus was always in favor of forgiveness and love. When people as "what would Jesus do?" when it comes to even the worst criminals on Earth, I feel pretty sure that he would be against killing them.

So tell me: is pro-Capital punishment a Christian teaching?

It seems to me that if we're pro-life than we are pro-all-life.

What do you think?

I am learning that some Jewish people are upset because the Holocaust is not taught in some school systems abroad "because their Muslim students do not believe it ever happened." But what if they do not believe it happened. Don't they have the right to believe whatever they wish? Just because it is taught does not mean that everyone will believe it anyway. For that matter there are many in the US who do not believe in God. Does that mean HE does not exist? There are many in the United States who do not believe it happened either. AND IT IS NOW MANDATORY THAT IT BE TAUGHT IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THIS NATION.
Is it the duty of the world to teach about the Holocaust?

ANd if it is, What Makes the Holocaust Any MORE important Than
The African slave atrocities?
The Rwanda genocide?
Darfur?
The slaying of innocents in Iraq
and countless others
Shouldn't it also be mandatory we teach about these atrocities also?

I think I'm pregnant(8 weeks)...It started out with a joke I was pregnant with twins..7 days after conception I spotted.2 tiny clots(sorry if 2 graphic) I said that was a sign of 2 implantations. I started praying for God to talk to me..2 birds flew up...ok well they travel together so I go up into my friends condo...60 inch plasma..2 men in their 40's(no children) are watching 2 embryo's developing into fetuses in high def...on discovery..I went outside to call my friend and told her how this was so amazing to me..looked up at the lamp post #'s 22 on it! A week later I called my prophetic friend and she tells me she was glad I called because last week whenn she talked to me she had a dream of a preg. girl she knew..thinks it was me and when she prayed about it in the am...God would only show her twins...not identical but boy and girl...WOW...I have all signs of pregnancy but as of 5 1/2 weeks all tests were negative.Last night Christian radio right after my prayer..talking about twins

A year ago as i lay in bed nearly asleep i opened my eyes and too my horror i saw a man sized figure totally black like a cut out of a shadow standing in the frame of my bed room door. The door slowly began to close and the shadow man moved into the room dissapearing into the darkness. Through the whole ordeal which only lasted perhaps 30 seconds tops i lay in bed paralyzed with a fear like i have never known in my life. So bad was my terror i could not move or speak even after the figure vanished. Slowly i began to breath again and my body relaxed enough for me to move around. i immiediately checked the room but no one was there. What could it have been and why was i striken dumb with terror. Never before in my life have i felt something so overwhemingly terrifying. I havent told my wife or son about his, i dont want to scare them needlessly. It has never happened again. Do ghosts, or demons give off that kind of petrifying feeling?
