rest easy.
if it was a ghost or a demon strong enough to affect your door then it probably would have attacked you. the fact that it disappeared and has not been seen since leads me to believe that you have experienced the phenomina known as sleep paralysis.
basically you come to a state of half wakefulness durring REM sleep. dreams will be replaced by black shadows. and it can be quite a horrible experience.
it it had physically attacked you or if it had appeared several times on a sonsistent basis i would then suggest a spiritual cleanser of an exorcist. but it was either sleep paralysis of something that had and has no intrest in your home.

You probably were suffering from sleep paralysis. I don't know all the scientific words for the sleep cycle, but it basically occurs when you wake up, but your body is still asleep .... which is why you can't move. Sleep paralysis is usually accompanied with an overwhelming dreadful feeling that someone is in the room with you, and many people very often have hallucinations -- which I think happens when part of your brain is still dreaming, and reality and your dreams become intertwined. Alot of people also experience a crushing feeling on their chest.
It really happens to alot of people. Back in the old days, people used to believe that it was caused by a witch or demon sitting on your chest and trying to steal your soul. Now, doctors have performed tests on people who experience this disorder often and there are more mundane explanations for it.
I've had similar experiences myself and they can be REALLY scary. Its important to know that the entire thing is fabricated by your mind. Do a search for "sleep paralysis" if you want more info.

I would say it was a demon. When I was about 8 or so I would see these small shadow people with red eyes. They looked like the shadow of a detective, with a hat outline and coat. They were about 3 feet tall and there were always about 6 or more of them. My dad also had two experiences with shadow people as well. He said he heard a high pitched ringing which wopke him then he realized he couldn't move. He said he couldnt see anything but just knew that there was something in the shadows in the corner of the room. There are websites that talk about them.

No, in elementary words fabric 3-dimensional gadgets can forged shadows from a mild source. because that a shadow has no count number (or an infinitely tiny volume, as some scientists declare) and is in elementary words 2 dimensional, it can not forged a shadow. at the same time as there are different mild sources, one merchandise can forged different shadows and shadows will be considered in mirrors, notwithstanding it really is about it.

When I was a kid, I constantly saw "shadow people" in my room. I was almost a teenager then and as I became an adult I blew it off to just a "kid" thing. I moved all the way across the united states and when my son was 16, he went back to my home to visit my parents and slept in my old room. Two years after he came home he told me about the shadow people that he saw there. I had NEVER mentioned them to anyone but I knew they were real after listening to him describe them. I was terrified but I was never harmed by them. My son said he felt some fear but more curiosity. He waited 2 years to tell me because he thought I would think he was nuts. I don't believe they "throw off" fear, we are just afraid of the unknown.

From my experience, yes. They can cause you to fear. I woke up to one manifesting above me one night years ago.
I am convinced that it followed me home from an old neighborhood that I lived in years before.
I have not only sen that, but also a 'ghost' in an unrelated expereince. I am now convinced that they were both demonic. I no longer believe in ghosts in the conventional sense. What I believe that we can see at times are manifestations of demons, or angels. Either one can make you to fear. I have the Bible telling me that angels can cause fear too.
In dreams I have had more experiences.
I am a Christian, so I have more power through God than any collections of demons have. Not that I wield it, but God does. It';s as if He places an invisible wall between me and the demons. And they suddenly are not there anymore.
It's been a long tiome since anything happened again. So as I go through my life, I know with greater certainty that God is the power to use to overcome, thanks to Jesus Christ.

I've seen them also. There are different types. I think you saw possibly what some call death but others just think it is an angel. Anyways there is nothing to fear, you have been chosen to receive a knowledge not all will experience. Next time call on Jesus, he will help you and protect you, I promise. : ) There are many different theories, but you and I both know it is as real as it gets, but what is real exactly. Many things in this universe we do not know about. Either way your astral body most likely travelled to another dimension and one of these things guided you back or one of these shadow people was passing through.

Some people say the Shadow people feel ominous. You were petrified with fear. I like to watch Ghost Hunters. They have a website that should help you.... www.taps.com

I believe the answer is yes they do feed on fear and I have yet to figure out whether the paralysis is something they do to you or if the fear alone causes it. But the couple times it happened to me about 25 years ago I could not speak, breathe or move until the presence was gone.

I saw a show about this sort of thing...and the alien abduction things too. Seems that your body can go into a REM paralitic state while you are almost conciously dreaming. You are aware of things around you in your dream state but unable to move. That is what they said explained the being paralized feeling comes from. But, they said the images and feelings are just those of a concious dream.
