The idea that only one faith really exists is too extreme to be true. Don't get tied into the guilt/submission game of the Christians or the Muslims. It's just as likely that you could go to the Happy Hunting Grounds, Valhalla, or even Summerland after you die, if you work at it. Excluding extremist Middle Eastern theology, what afterlife would you like to have?

I kinda like the idea of Summerland. You know that sounds rather pleasant. I love summertime. It's just so happy and sunny. I was definitely not meant to live in London or Seattle. And tons of wiccans running around kinda reminds me of being in college. I went to a hippie college so I see Summerland as very similar with a few more fields of daisies and poppies. And lots of dresses designed by Uli (for anyone who watched Project Runway). Not sure that Valhalla works for me. The sweaty warriors just sounds like being trapped in a lockerroom unable to get out. But I could definitely go for reincarnation too. Rebirth as a puppy dog. I sit here and watch my little puppy lay on his comfortable bed (which is actually on top of our futon so it's double the comfort) and I think "wow that is the life. wouldn't i love to be a dog?" Cause the cute ones...oh yeah do they know they are cute. I don't know about rebirth as a cow. Seems boring, but at least I wouldn't have anything deep to think about. Stand, eat, chew carefully. Moo. Yes I understand I'd have to work my way up to cow.

Yeah if we are voting on afterlives, I'll pick either of those two.

I am reasonably sure I would not rate Valhalla, but I hear good things about the Summerland. Certainly, after this trip, I'm ready for some apple pie and good times before I come back.

I am a Christian, so in reality my chosen afterlife is eternity with God the Father.

However, I'm also a fan of folklore and mythology and science fiction, so I'm perfectly willing to play "make-believe" for a moment. Hmmm..... Valhalla wouldn't be fun, I don't think -- from what I've read of Viking culture, I think their afterlife mostly involves drinking and fighting, and drinking, and fighting, and drinking... NOT my idea of a pleasant afterlife! Not a little bit, not at all. I wonder what Viking women thought about Valhalla, now that you mention it...

I'm very interested in the history of ancient Egypt (member of the Egyptian Study Society (www.egyptstudy.org)), and their Field of Reeds sounds kind of neat... and I'm a Scot by ancestry, so Tir-na'n-Og sounds nice too... ;-)

But like I said, that's just pretend. I'll stick with God and His afterlife, thanks.

Valhalla sounds like it could be fun for an afternoon or two. And I'd like to stop by the Muslim variation of heaven just to see what 72 virgins in one place looks like.

I think I'd like to go to that great big lounge bar in the sky... Where the jazz is free flowing, your Mohito glass is never empty and you could live healthily on finger food. Every afternoon would be spent with Dean Martin, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington and Frank Sinatra just swingin'.

What would I like to happen to me after I die. I would like a moment to reflect say good bye and then I would like to not exist anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love life and I'm very happy, I don't want to die yet, but 1 is enough for me, I think.

Bilskirnir in Asgard.

I'd have said Vallhalla, but that's Odin's hall for his chosen warriors. I'm more so a worshiper of Thor, so I reckon if there's an afterlife I will be going to his hall in Asgard.

In a perfect forest, with a fishing pond in the middle of an eternal summer with all my loved ones who have passed away before me...and my dog :)

Can you suggest anything more perfect than heaven? With no bad stuff there at all? And can you suggest anything for the cruel and hateful, the rapists, molesters etc than total annihilation?
I cannot and will not forget about either of those..anything in between would be still a mixture of good and evil.

What other afterlife is there to look forward to other than Heaven? I can't imagine spending eternity anywhere else.
