1 Corinthians16: 1-3 indicates that Paul is telling them to “prepare” their offering on Sunday: “On the first-day of the week [Sunday] let every one you lay by him [himself alone] in store [storage], as God has prospered him, that there be no gathering when I arrive.

If you think you can judge others, you are wrong. When you judge them, you are realy judging yourself guilty, because you do the same things they do.

No....

And He is under no obligation to explain Himself to us either.

People will say things like, "The word trinity isn't in the bible"....this is true. Doesn't make it false though......it's real wether anyone believes it or not. The word "bible" isn't in there either....but we're ok with that, correct?

If we knew all there was to know about God....then He wouldn't be God anymore......we would be God....and we know that can never be!

Their largest church is in Dallas, Tx with over 3000 members...they have two services filled to capacity. There are nearly 10 other gay churches in Dallas as well...we see this in every large city in the country.

Obviously, gay people want to return to church, but are not welcome in the ones they were raised....so, why do fundamentalists not extend a hand of fellowship to their gay brothers and sisters and welcome them in the same way they do any others they feel may be sinning...divorced, adulterers, etc... ?

Why do pastors rail from the pulpit about gay people, pointint a finger of judgement at them thereby pushing them away...but, are quiet about the divorced, adulterers, obese,etc...? Shouldn't churches show everyone the face of God...and not the backhand of judgement?

It's obvious that gays want to worship God too...otherwise the MCC church would not exist.

Observe the wonders of humans:

Bob the Christian.
Statement A: The Koran is intolerant.
His reply: Damn right.
Statement B: The Bible is corrupt.
His reply: HEY! That's a damn lie! Here's the facts that I researched to show that you're wrong!

Feel free to replace the word Christian with Atheists, Muslims, or whatever else.

I have attended several churches where young adult women (18 to 39) who want to be punished for their sins and bad behaviors
are routinely spanked by their pastors or by their Titus 2 group leaders. This is not being done secretly by sicko ministers. The regulations and theology governing it are written down and well known. Being spanked has greatly reduced my bad behaviors. Does this happen in many churches? Should its use be promoted to other churches? How should women ask for the inclusion of this practice into their church's pastoral counseling services, Titus 2 groups, prayer groups, or even Bible study groups?

I never could wrap my mind around the Christian doctrine of the Trinity. Is there one God, or are there three? Are Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit all the same person wearing different hats, or do they have personhood seperate from one another? And if they do have seperate personhood, then how is it that they are all God and there is only one God? This paradox has always confused me. Is there Scriptural support for this doctrine? Is it explicitly stated in the Bible, or just implied? When did this become Church dogma, and why is it Heresy to believe otherwise? I mean no disrespect, I'm just trying to understand.

So my overall question is about Biblical language. Isn't it rather a shame that the romance has been bowdlerised out of the "classic" text, making it not even necessarily a good read as "fable"?

An example:

Currently I'm reading my mother's old confirmation KJV from 1947. I'm on 1 Samuel at the moment and I found something interesting. In looking up sources online I confirmed my reading of what it means, but I also found this (34's the important verse):

1 Samuel 25 from the New International Version (biblegateway.com)

32 David said to Abigail, "Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, who has sent you today to meet me.

33 May you be blessed for your good judgment and for keeping me from bloodshed this day and from avenging myself with my own hands.

34 Otherwise, as surely as the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, who has kept me from harming you, if you had not come quickly to meet me, not one male belonging to Nabal would have been left alive by daybreak."

Yes, everyone knows how bad the slur was that Imus made
against those girls..something that should never had happened..to the girls and neither to Imus....
Imus recognized the blunder and said he was sorry...to
the girls and to everyone else concerned......was that
enough for Rev. Al or Rev. Jesse? Apparently not...they
intend to make a bigger 'race issue' out of this than what it
already is.

Christians should strive to pacify a situation. If forgiveness
is not in the hearts of our Christian leaders, then our leaders
are slacking in their roles. . . .(Now we have Obama and
Hillary trying to cash in on this unfortunate situation..how
disgusting)!
