Yes, everyone knows how bad the slur was that Imus made
against those girls..something that should never had happened..to the girls and neither to Imus....
Imus recognized the blunder and said he was sorry...to
the girls and to everyone else concerned......was that
enough for Rev. Al or Rev. Jesse? Apparently not...they
intend to make a bigger 'race issue' out of this than what it
already is.

Christians should strive to pacify a situation. If forgiveness
is not in the hearts of our Christian leaders, then our leaders
are slacking in their roles. . . .(Now we have Obama and
Hillary trying to cash in on this unfortunate situation..how
disgusting)!

First, forgiveness is over-rated and over-used. We should not feel compelled to forgive someone for the sake of forgiving them. That's just a bit too dishonest. What we feel about someone is what we feel. If the other person tries to make amends, we should try to re-evaluate what we feel about it.

Secondly, there is nothing for anybody here to forgive. Nobody here was slighted by Imus. The girls he talked about may have been offended by what he said, but even then it is a bit of a stretch to say they were harmed by him. Even so, it would only be the girls who would forgive him if they wished to.

Thirdly, people are concentrating too much on the words he used and not enough on what he actually said. He wasn't actually demeaning the girls. That wasn't the intent of what he said. He may have used a poor choice in words, but he wasn't trying to be hateful. A man's career should not be destroyed over a slightly distasteful use of words that would otherwise go unnoticed in any rap song or black radio station.

BTW, to really show how much ABC really cares about caring for people, notice how they chose to cut off his syndication just before he was about to hold his radiothon to get money for sick children. ABC cared more about protecting its butt than helping kids. They could have easily waited until Monday, but being politically correct was more important to them than raising money for sick kids.

I don't know if the Radiothon is still accepting donations, but their phone-in number is 877-877-6464.

You wont detect a faith accessible it really is practiced immediately that did not "come from something else. Even those New Age "pagan" religions that are so politically perfect and fashionable were made up in the Thirties through the Nineteen Fifties from different mythologies. (word that I said the recent age ones. i'm no longer concerning the others who're attempting to reconstruct their old religions) The Celebrations established as Christmas and Easter became celebrated by using all the middle eastern and eu historic religions that I actually have studied in a unmarried type or yet another. The Crusades ought to never are transforming into off the floor if the Moslems hadn't been invading Europe for better than three hundred years before the first marketing campaign exceeded off. Charles Martel became the murderous Moslem hordes lower back from excursions France in the twelve months 732. the first marketing campaign became only after the twelve months 1000. comprehend that i'm no longer a Christian,.. I the picture of info.

Interesting. I saw your question right after I posted one that asked: "has Christianity been hijacked"? I agree with what you are saying, forgiveness is supposed to be a core part of the Christian message. As Christians, we should be a reflection of God's grace. If we really understand that we have received undeserved love, how can we help but show it to others?

While there is no excusing the things Imus said, why do some act as if they are "morally outraged"? In doing such, are we `looking at the splinter in someones eye, and ignoring the 2x4 in our own eye'? Christians should be known for their love and compassion...not by their condemnation of everything around them.

I wouldn't say it's THE theme ... I'd have to reserve that for grace.

You are right in that some are using this incident to further their political advantages, and that is disgusting ... and they act like we can't see it! lol

However, considering that Imus makes his living using words, it shows that he is incapable of doing his job if he is unable to use more appropriate words. It also shows what is in his heart, if he honestly sees black women that way.

Should he be forgiven? Certainly. Should he be on the air? No, not until he's repented, and repentance can take awhile.

Forgiveness is definitely a trait of a true Christian.

But LOVE is the true theme of a true Christian...

Love should be shown by Imus and by those he spoke against.

No kidding...it's a joke. I wonder if it had been a black commentator talking about white girls if it would have been different? I know that's not what your getting at just typing out loud. People should be able to say their sorys and be forgiven for such..And big names should know better than to use stories like this to try to gain browne points. O what a world we live in. Come Jesus come!

Forgiveness starts with a genuine apology, which I do not believe Imus has given. His "apology" seems to me to be insincere.

Simply take a moment to think about the following statement:

"Hello, my name is Jesus. I love you deeply. I have loved you since you were conceived in the womb and I will love you for all eternity. I died for you on the cross because I love you so much. I long to have a loving personal relationship with you. I will answer all of your prayers through my love. But if you do not get down on your knees and worship me, and if you do not EAT MY BODY and DRINK MY BLOOD, then I WILL INCINERATE YOU WITH UNIMAGINABLY TORTUOUS PAIN IN THE FIRES OF HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY BWAH HA HA HA HA HA!"
Yes, this is the central message of Christianity. See John 6:53-54 and Mark 16:16.
Think about this message. We have a being who, according to the Standard Model of God, embodies love. Yet, if you do not get down on your knees and worship him, you will be physically tortured for all eternity. What sort of love is that?

The utter silliness and contradiction of Jesus' core message should make it obvious to you: God is imaginary.

Stupidity has always been the theme for true Christianity, that and trying to find ways of entertaining children with oranges, candles, glitter and coat hangers (despite the horrific death toll).

love is the theme for true christianity however none of the aforementioned are acting out of love but rather out of personal agendas...truly a perversion of faith.
