Isn't the US obsession with outward appearance and materialistic wealth in contradiction with the inner nature of spirituality/religion?

Or would he be out feeding the hungry, giving to the poor, widows etc...

Fundies...where are your priorities? It is a lot easier to sit your fat *** behind a computer and type hateful rhetoric...than actually do something that would be productive....of course, that would require you to leave your oreo cookies at home, and do something selfless...where would the fun in that be?

Be an example...show me what someone who calls himself a fundamentlist would?

without requiring any proof whatsoever, why do they insist that science hasn't proven evolution?

Why isn't proof required for their nonsense but actual scientific proof is rejected as 'unproven' or 'speculative' or somehow 'religious' in nature?

No doubt about it, Don Imus was truly dumb and insensitive in what he said about the Ruteger's Basketball team..HOWEVER the word *Ho* which is used in today's youth culture is not viewed as a *Big Deal*

What do you think is the cause of that? Are women to blame for how they are viewed? Girls Gone Wild Videos, Victoria Secret TV Programs, My Space with women having no problem revealing photos of themselves, What makes women think they deserve any respect when they act like that?

Do you think women that deserve respect are being lumped in with the women who truly do act like B**es and *H**s?

People often try to use the bible as a weapon against homosexuality, so is this Jesus' message, that gays should be harassed all the time?

Was Jesus a gaybasher?

for the fact that they just don't WANT to believe? Because of what it would mean for their lifestyles and the restrictions it would place on their behaviour. I once debated with an atheist and even though it took about 2-3 hours to break down the intellectual barriers, she was eventually backed into a corner where she admitted that even if God was standing right in front of her and she could touch him and talk to him etc, she still wouldn't accept him. I see so many atheists parrotting the same easily answerable objections and I wondered if this was perhaps true of a majority.

and what is the new name of Jesus? Could this refer to his being exalted to his new position as King?

"He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God. And I will write on him my new name." ---Revelation 3:12

Many fundies say obese people have a "medical condition"...why can you believe that fat people are born that way...but, homosexuals aren't?

Gluttony is one of the 7 deadly sins...if someone does not turn from their sin, they will not inherit the kingdom of God...according to fundies...therefore, someone who remains fat is going to hell...correct?

Or, are they born that way? Can't have it both ways folks...Again, obese people control what they put in their mouth...just like gay people do.

I find it interesting that there's all these people that cling to Pascal's wager to hedge their bets. Yet if you were an omnipotent creator of the universe who could see into people's hearts, wouldn't you feel a bit insulted by this cynical each way bet approach?

It seems to me that Pascal's wager is inherently an exercise in being dishonest with yourself.

Wouldn't a god see it as dishonest as well?
