I find it interesting that there's all these people that cling to Pascal's wager to hedge their bets. Yet if you were an omnipotent creator of the universe who could see into people's hearts, wouldn't you feel a bit insulted by this cynical each way bet approach?

It seems to me that Pascal's wager is inherently an exercise in being dishonest with yourself.

Wouldn't a god see it as dishonest as well?

Impossible question to happen. Nobody or no human could be a supreme being.

Obviously, one does not even need to be supreme to see through Pascal's Wager, because even you have done so. Indeed, Pascal's wager is flawed, reducing God to a throw of the dice, and completely disregarding faith. Yet the God of the Bible requires faith.

I commend you on your insight.

Pascal's wager is a very interesting thought problem but it is so transparent that my 12 year old daughter can see through it. I would assume that a supreme being who is worth is salt would just chuckle at it.

Wait.. so are you saying that those of us who see through it are Supreme beings? thank you!

Seriously, I would have to say if there is a Supreme Being who sees all and knows all, he'd know if you were hedging your bet or really believed in him, so the wager is even more pointless now.

So what if you have to spend enternity in hell, Satan and God can go f-ck themselves. At the point of meeting either you are dead and cannot be killed twice. So sending you to hell to burn when you are already dead doesn't mean very much.

Pascal was just another religious zealot who was afraid of his church and government. which he had ever right to be because he would have been killed if he believed differently.

To answer your question, if I were an omnipotent being I wouldn't care who beleived in me. I would be busy creating stuff and checking out women's lockerrooms all over the universe.

Would have thought, yes. But I'm still squirming over not realising Loki's Wager wasn't just a widdle take, so I'm not feeling real smart on wagers in general just now...

I think a God will be insulted that "his" people try to convert others by telling them that God doesn't care whether they believe in their hearts because God is too stupid to tell the difference.

Of course, but being that christians believe that god gives them a % comission on every person they convert... they come up with any technique they can to reel them in. They're basically sneaky sales people trying to cleverly fool you into "buying" into their religion.

I would also have to point out to people that, it was a nice try, but they picked the wrong god to bank on.

Choosing to receive Jesus as your Savior is the ONLY logical choice. That is why I chose Him. Afterwards, He manifested Himself unto me. That is when I chose to make Him Master over my life.

You do not need to be a supreme being to see past that garbage
