Who else thinks people are tainted by money? Im thinking specificly of J.K. Rowling, Christina Agulara, Fred Durst,
I met J.K. Rowling once and frankly I was furious that i extended my hand for her to shake it in a room of only 30 people and she wouldnt take it and gave me the "im better then you" look. A year or so ago on MTV I saw Christina Agulara blow off 2 fans who met her in an alley...Christina, her body guard and the two guys were the only ones there and she "sicked" her body gurad on them.
Why does society promote such behavior and why do we allow this? If I work at a restaurant and a customer is rude to me for no reason why should I have to take it? If I saw them in the street I wouldnt dare allow them to talk or act like that to me. What are your opinions?

when someone says "you are cool" do they mean our style or our attitude

I suspect there is something legitimately wrong with this individual, although I do not know clinically what to call it. Bipolar perhaps, or manic-depressive. This individual is a single, older woman. Emotional states vary between euphoric & miserable. Very demeaning & insulting, either directly, but mostly in a thinly veiled fashion. Grandstands & creates unnecessary dilemmas/scenes, especially when she knows others are within earshot. Sneaky & will rifle staff's offices when they're out sick/on vacation, logon to their pc's, read their email, redial #s on their phones. Fawns over higher ups & blatantly kisses the asses of those in other departments, but will insult same individuals behind their back. Constantly creates a tension-filled environment for subordinates.
At this pt I find it hard to look directly at her, even in conversation. I'm that disgusted, & I know I will ultimately have to quit, but I hate doing nothing about this. This kind of behavior should not be allowed.

Do you say good morning anymore to people you don't know?

I was walking dow the street the other day, and held the shop door open for this mother and kids. Once passed me the littlest one , maybe about 5 yr old, said thank you. Lovely that was to hear her mother crushed it by saying don't talk to strangers.
Sad world it is today

Last vacation my wife and me stayed at a Country Inn and Suites.
Accomodation was great blah blah blah...
Around 9 pm we decided to practice reproduction.
Thing is that the headboard was not properly attached to the wall, and an annoying banging was produced towards the next room.
Nobody complained.
At about 10 pm, the need for preserving the specie came again to us, so we started our job again... more banging, moaning, etc...
Again, luckily, nobody complained.
Okay, it's 11:30 pm and we don't feel like sleeping yet, so, while watching Conan, we get mushy mushy again and the banging starts one more time...
This time our "probably tired" neighbors start to punch the wall like maniacs towards us like the hotel was on fire...
Fortunately we managed to come anyways.
Questions:

Was our fault for being on heat?
Was Country Inn's fault for not attaching properly the headboard?
Was Country Inn's fault for constructing such poor walls?
Was the neighbor's fault for being awake?

look, i understand everyone has their own opinion about everything. tell me though why all you lame people actually take time out of your busy, perfect lives and put others down? if you're trying to give your advice, fine. do it with good intentions but when you just answer someones question for the sole purpose of being an AS*, dont bother! keep it to yourself. better yet, look at yourself in the mirror and ask-, "why am i unhappy with myself and why is it i feel better when i put others down?" when you come up with the truth about why you are so insensative- maybe you'll take some time to work on your own problems and quit bitching at others.

One of my party guests didn't RSVP by the deadline, so we sent him a note asking him if he and his family was gonna come. He didn't respond to that either, but a few days later, we saw him and asked him in person. He said no because he had other (recreational) plans. Then later the same day, he called to say his plans fell through and would like to come. And he wanted to come early because it was a long drive. Should I say it is okay to come or not? I'm not exactly thrilled with being "Plan B," with the thought of having to babysit guests while I'm still doing prep work, and with this guy in general for another, unrelated reason. But, I want to be fair, so what do you think?

I have a new landlord who is wonderful and friendly (thank goodness, the last one was just awful). I was about to move out and then I got this great landlord who fixed the place up. (I said I would stay if the place was fixed up and I named a few things that needed desperately to be done). That was awesome and she seemed happy to have a tenant in the place (single mom's aren't known to party, lol). Since than I have needed a new wash machine and a plumber (which I asked one to come quickly as my son was getting burnt from our kitchen tap not working properly). I have also asked for another minor thing to be fixed. She has only been my landlord a month and I am self concious about this all. Am I coming across as demanding to a new landlord. Because today she came by and I was busy. My daugher said I sounded mad (I wasn't , just busy and hot). Now I feel bad. Did I seem mad to my new landlord on top of demanding??? Or am I just being insecure because my last landlord was awful?

...ago and for a very good reason: I saw my mom die of emphisema. Now I dislike it a lot. My husband smokes but from the very beginning I told him I didn't like him to smoke in the car because it's a close space. He doesn't do it and he's very careful where he smokes.
But, when we go visit his family and we go places in my brother-in-law's car, the first thing my B-I-L does after he gets in the car, is light a cigarette. The problem is, that he does it with all the windows closed because either the air conditioning or the heating is on. He's in the front with his wife in the passenger's seat and my husband and I sit in the back and all the smoke seems to get on our faces. I just can't stand it, I start coughing and I really need to open the window in order to breathe. Something not nice when it's 20 degrees below zero in Michigan.
He's a very nice guy and I don't want to offend him. Any ideas how I can tell him to stop smoking in the car? I think it's not healthy for anybody.

I was at this restaurant and my order ended up gettin screwed up. It wasn't really the waiter's fault, but I got mad anyways and ended up telling the manager that the waiter called me a "*****" even though he didn't. He ended up getting fired... should I feel bad?

You were walking behind them, and they dropped a wad of money.

Would you pocket it, or hand it back?

My boyfriend is letting his cousin's 12 years old daughter staying with us for two weeks while his cousins go to visit a relative. I'm fine with this, she's really nice, a fun, and good kid. So I have no problem with this at all.

But yesterday I was really sick so I was in the bed for most of the day. At one point I got sick of staying in the bedroom most of the day. So I got up and walk out of the bedroom and my boyfriend and his cousin was sitting on couch watching movie. He saw me coming so he stand up and come to me and hug me then ask what is wrong. I just told him I want to get out of the bed room for a bit. So he lift me and carry me to the couch and wrap blanket around me then sit down and cradle me. Since I wasn't feeing well, I didn't really feel like talking so I let him do it.

He normally do thing like this, so it's not a big deal. But his cousin was there so I feel kinda embarrassed about it. How do I gently let my bf know about this?

We are throwing a birthday party for our 5 year old. She wants to invite her whole pre-school class. After talking to parents of some of her friends who's children did the same thing, said that a lot of people don't show because they don't want to spend money on a present and don't feel its appropriate to show up empty handed. So I thought about putting something on the invitation that she just wants her friends from school to come and play, have cake etc. That they don't need to bring presents, any suggestions?

she accuses me of leaving equipment at clients house when its both our responsabilities. Monday she accused me hacking into the school website to get her 10 yr old daughters information. I have no user id or password to do that im not a school employee. All i did was ask her if she wanted the school supply list printed off the school website. well after all the abuse i kicked her out of my car . I give her rides to work, rides to get her kids, rides home and she hasnt given me gas money in 2 months. Its policy you have to have a car to work for this company and she doesnt have one so she mooches off of me. Was I wrong for doing this? And I am more than likely going to see her at work tomorrow since we work together. She also has scratched and dented my new car loading equipment into it

There are 4 of us hosting a baby shower. What is the etiquette regarding each of us giving the mother-to-be gifts? I am being told that it is etiquette for the hostesses to give 1 gift as a group. If you have a personal gift that it should not be given during the shower. Is this correct? So far, I have not been able to find protocol on this specific topic.

What happened? and how? I'm only asking this because this happened to me-it was very unexpected. *I was in love with my acquintance's, (who was once my friend) brother. He is 23 & I'm 20. This incident happened a year ago. As I was leaving the retail store I onced worked for I looked to my left, low &b ehold he was walking right past me the opposite way. We imiditaely locked eyes, but then quickly looked away-never saying a word to each other. The day before this incident I spoke to a customer who after talking to -just causally- tells me that he is really good friends with this guy. I had no clue they knew each other. I never told him I like him though-just kept it professional. He did tell me he was suppose to be flying into town the next day, he was returning from college. Well the next day is when I saw him at the mall, by where I work. I don't know if the guy I chatted with at the store had something to do with it-but it was freaky, and it was surreal-I had't seen him in 3 yrs.

Her mother and I have been friends since high school and I was her maid of honor. But I don't particularly believe in all these archaic, mostly materialistic and self serving "honors" that have become routine. I am not religious in the least, and I don't need to church to tell me to care for a child that needs it. I'm honestly tired of all the expenses these ocasions bring up that I can't really afford. And I'm tired of going all out for everyone else, while noone ever reciprocates or appreciates. I would rather not do it, but at the same time I don't want to hurt her feelings. I'm just tired of participating in all these rituals that are nothing more than gift gathering expeditions, and in which I don't really believe.
