I never know how much assistance to offer a little person. These are short adults I'm talking about.

If you knew that person well and asked them if they'd like to be on your shoulders so they can see better. Otherwise, it might be rude. Especially if you don't ask them first.

there are two taboos that you brush on in this question, the first is personal space. the second is publicity. if this little person is someone you dont know arnt friends with or haveing a relationship with by doing this you invade there personal space. it much less rude to say something along the lines of hey do you want stand in front of me? then to pick them up and invade there space. the second is the embarssment factor of being treated like a child in a public manor some people have no problem with this others how ever do. again it is just easer to avoid this situation with strangers and simply offer to let them stand infront of you. how ever if this is a friend or an adult child, or your wife or husband feel free to offer.

It might indeed be rude to lift a short adult up. Besides the people behind you now not being able to see, the little person can ask for a front row seat, move to the front, or ask someone they came with to lift them.

yes it probably will offend them a bit. if you are an adult it would also be kind of odd. If the 'little' person looks like he doesnt mind his view of the event, don't bother mentioning it. If it was a complete stranger, you probably don't even want to think about doing it. That would rude and odd for the 'little' person

ASK or OFFER this,
if you are physically able to do so.

Then if they accept, fine.

Rudeness is when there is some crowd of people, there may be some who cannot see over the crowd, then when you do this aid, the view of someone else may now be blocked.

It would depend on who is behind you. I would ask first. Or you could let the little person stand in front of you or help them get to the front.

I'm 4'11 so I know how it is to be short! I think its a bit rude. If you do it --make it brief. Don't do it through the entire event.

Go for it. I am sure they appreciate the help. Though I don't see a real big need for that in my everyday life.
