You were walking behind them, and they dropped a wad of money.

Would you pocket it, or hand it back?

Of course I would hand it back. I believe in the Law of Karma--and my name is Earl (LOL)

i've had this happen, sort of. i was at a grocery store and found a trail of $20 bills. so picked them up. by the end of the trail i had close to $300. after about 40 minutes i saw some guy at the checkout that was looking frantically for his money in his pockets and heard him talking about possibly dropping it. so i gave it back. had this been some dude on the street who dropped that bad boy without a care in the world, i would probably pocket it. i guess it all depends on the situation and the person. i don't know. i'll let you know when that happens (keeping my fingers crossed that it does).

Without a doubt I would give it back to them. I worked in the armored car business so I have seen alot more money than someone is gonna drop out of their pocket. So seeing a was of money wouldnt impress me much LOL. I never stole a dime and never thought about it either. Now ask people if they could work around millions of dollars, had a plan they knew would work and they would never be caught, if they could resist.

I have to thank all the people that said that they would hand it back. Thank you.
I now live in Japan and I lost my wallet , my personal cards and the last bit of money. I had no one to turn to.I walked into the police station to report my loss.
While the police were taking down my details a young man walked in and said he found a wallet . I looked up and saw it was my wallet.I tell you my whole life came back to me.I checked my wallet to find my cards and my money.I asked the police what reward should I give the young man for finding my wallet.I offered the young man 10% of the cash that I had in my wallet and he refused .
I know deep inside me no matter what I will NEVER pocket other people's money.

This actually happened to me and my husband. We were standing in line. Saw a wad of money on the ground. Weren't sure who dropped it. We grabbed it and walked off, thinking it was our lucky day! A little ways down the sidewalk, we saw a man with his family, he was ahead of us when we were in line. He was searching his pockets, like he lost something. We knew what we had to do. We asked him if he lost something. He said yes, $100.00. We gave it back, and he was so grateful! He gave us $20. We did the right thing, it felt good!

If it was just on the floor and they had gone then I would keep it, but if he was right there then I would give it back.
I have a story - Once I was REAL low on cash and I was going to check my bank balance at the cashpoint. This old man infront of me was taking ages and he walked off and a wad of £20 notes came out of the cashpoint!!!
I was sooooo tempted to take it (I was low on electricity, gas and food for my son), but I ran after him and handed it to him.
I didnt feel good that I had done a good deed though! He couldve at least given me £20 for being honest, lol!

If I knew who had dropped it, I would hand it back. But on the rare occasions that I find money in the street and I have no idea who dropped it, I keep it. However, I believe that one is supposed to take money found in the street to the police station and if nobody claims it you can have it back. But I just cant be bothered.

If I had seen who dropped it, I would hand it back. A few years ago, there were a couple of guys in my local takeaway, and as one of them paid, another £10 dropped out of his pocket without him realising. He and his mate carried on talking, and it would have been so easy to let them just walk off, but I told him - so I had to pay for my own meal that night!

I actually had that happen, a gentleman had taken his wallet out as he was entering a restaraunt and dropped a folded bunch of money. I picked it up and saw it was a wad of twenties. I went into the restaraunt and handed it to hime. He was very appreciative and offered to buy me lunch. I politely declined his offer, but it did feel good giving him his money back.

If I saw them drop the money, I would hand it over. If I found it, I would turn it in to the police. I know how I would feel if I lost alot of money and I would hope that people would do the honest thing.

It did actually happen to me a few yrs ago..
I saw these notes lying in little piles on the pavement and realised they had fallen out of a mans pocket...a passer-by stopped and we picked up the money and ran after him and put it back into safer pockets..we kinda though he'd won on the horses (betting) that day because he was a little tipsy shall we say......a few hundred pounds..but i would never keep anything belonging to anyone...he was so grateful bless im : )
