don't wear it. i took a business class last year, and we went through a whole section on interviews, and one of the tips was to TAKE OUT all piercings besides your ears. and even then you're not supposed to wear anything flashy like hoops or anything.
the whole point of an interview is to try and sell yourself as an employee, not selling your body jewelry.

I would go to a piercing salon to get it removed. An interview is too good to pass up. But going to an interview and telling them you can't take your lip piercing off won't make you look very intelligent. They may even think you're leaving it in on purpose and will come to work with the same excuse. Some people have a real problem being told they can't wear their piercings.

I wouldn't do it! Potential employers look for certain things in which they can ascertain things about you. If you NEED this job, be wise and leave it out for the interview.
I would be honest with the interviewer about your piercing and ask what the company policy is on this. That will be more respectful than just showing up with the ring in your lip.
Hey, best of luck!

It all depends on the place you apply. A local music store, sure no problem. A law office, probably not such a good idea. Life is always context dependent. What you cannot do in one place you can get away with in another and be praised for in a third. Just make your decision based on who you will be talking to. Are they young and understanding or older and more conservative? If they are a demographic match for your mom then do as she says, if not go your own road.

You shouldn't wear any piercings other than maybe a tasteful set of earrings to the interview, and my advice is that while at work, you maintain the same appearance you put on in the interview. While your employer is paying you for your time, you should see to it that they get what they pay for, and give them a clean-cut, professional employee that their clients will respect, and want to deal with.

Not if you want a job. You won't even know if you didn't get a job because of it. I would never hire people with lip, tongue or eyebrow piercings for a job dealing with the public, although I would have no problem if it was a job answering phones. Each business will set its own level of appearance and decorum.

If you plan to flip burgers go ahead and wear it. Otherwise present a professional aura in the interview and as an employee. If you wish to play with the big boys, dress like them. Cover your tats and holes, the general public doesn't want to see them, and that is who will ultimately be your employer via their customer status.

If you want the best chance at getting the job your best bet would be to stick with just earrings. If you luck out and get hired, you can put your lip ring back in.

I am about to interview a girl for a job. If she had a lip ring that would put me off....
First impressions stick!
Its probably not what you want to hear and might sound old fashion and outdated, but Im the one who might give her a job!

Don't wear it to the interview. You've got your mom for life. The job may just be temporary. When you've been there for a week and you've shown them you're a decent employee, pop it in. If they don't like it, they'll ask you to remove it at work.
