My mother-in-law has bad hygiene. She always smells really really bad and doesn't brush her hair or bathe. I understand that she is on hard-core painkillers and just lays around her house. I feel repulsed when she touches my newborn's face and doesn't wash her hands...I can see the dirt . A friend suggested we get an in-home heath aide or something like that for her to help her clean herself (not sure if she physically can't or is just too doped up) and clean her house with is filthy. I would love to do it but am presently more than busy enough taking care of my kids (who get allergies everytrime we go over there from all the dust and animal dander.) We would visit more if it were a better situation and be more comfortable. She doesn't like leaving her house to visit us. Anyone else deal with a potentially offensive situation like this? How can we find out if she really needs someone to help her? The drugs she takes are for long-term problems...no end in sight. Please help.

for example: a roommate who doesnt lift a finger around the place, but when you order pizza or have beer in the fridge they take it upon themselves to help you drink/eat it but never reciprocate. Throwing them out isnt an option either. you have to deal with them. what would you do?

I get the train to and from work, in the morning and afternoon peak hour. Sometimes there is a spare seat next to the window with someone sitting next to the aisle. I will say excuse me, could I sit? I would have thought that person would just slide across a bit, but they stand up to let me pass so I can sit down. This is a nice thing, I just dont know why, I have a bit of a giggle to myself when this happens. I live in Brisbane but will accept answers from all, thankyou.

I planned a day trip for some of my hometown friends before I move out for college. Suddenly, the day before the trip, one of my friends wants to pick up his girlfriend who lives an hour away and meet us at our destination. He knows that his girlfriend and I don't get along that well, and that this is one of our group's last chances to hang out together. Frankly, I really don't want her there. He emailed me asking me if I had any objections, but I feel like it would be rude to say I didn't want her there. Would it be rude, and if not how could I tactfully ask he not bring her?

I really just don't like children. Teenagers I can deal with, but kids, I just can't. I don't know when this started or why. Is this NORMAL? Are there other people who just don't like children???

2) Do I address it to my friend, or the whole family?
3) Is $100 in the envelope customary?

This came up in a conversation at work. There are these $5000 love dolls that you can buy. They are solid so you just cannot deflate them. My question was, what do you do with a used $5000 love doll that, for whatever reason, you need to get rid of? Who would buy it?

I'm interested in the answers because I see this happening in movies/tv all the time. You get it, you ask a "fat" women when they are going to have their baby and they say, "what baby?"

ok i've dealt with the fact that i'm not getting any chest anytime soon and i'm fine with my A cup, but it seems some people like to point it out and be funny about it as if i should feel bad, when i'm really happy with myself. what should i say back to them to let them know what they just said was stupid. and how can i make them feel dumb about what they just said in a repectful way when people go "you dont have any breasts, or youre flat"

I was in work today and my manger was recently at a buying show. I later found out that he had bought some "liquid ***." He ended up spraying it in the work area and on some of the employees. It was terrible........

My daughter was selected to dance in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade this November. It is an expensive trip and she has been doing some fund raising but we have a long way to go. We just sent some letters to local businesses but we were also considering sending a letter to family and friends asking them to donate. Is this tacky?

Mind you, I also sometimes stare at the other girls' and fantasize some stuffs. LoL!!

Am I just a hypocrite here...? What do all of you think here? Guys and girls? As a Lady myself, what should I do or tell him (or even her)?

I was looking at alot of other questions regarding this issue. Before I start first off those who ask non smokers if they can light up first or go to more secluded area. thank you

Now to those you light up where ever they want.
It's smoke, ok?
No one sits in the smoke when sitting around a camp fire.
No one likes to breath in smoke in the air.
No one dreams of putting their head in a smoke stack.

I'm well aware of the amount of puplic nuisances besides smoking.

After reading many answers to questions like this one I want to know why so many smokers think its ok to "Smoke where ever the F*** they want." It's gross and can really bother the people you are around. I wouldn't walk around farting in close proximity to other people and thats natural. Why then do they think they can smoke where ever they want to.

Two of my friends just got engaged. I'm very very happy for them both, but recently split with my boyfriend (who is their best friend) and feeling really sad that my life hasn't turned out that way.

I know it's wrong to be self-pitying, but does it make me a horrible person? I don't want to be sad and bitter, I just want to be able to be happy for them with no other feelings attached :-(

We have a person at work who is a supervisor outside of our department but he sits right next to us. He listens to every single thing we say and then tells our boss what we are doing wrong. He will then try to be our friend. It is so obvious. Why are some people like this at work?
