stop being a pansy and put your foot down. If he reaches for a slice of something he didn't pay for, knock his hand away and explain that it's for you and the rest who pitched in. Or, ask him to throw a few bucks down.
If you let him get away with this, he won't ever change.

All of the rules and regs should have been worked out BEFORE you took on the roommate but since you didn't, there's no time like the present to have a talk. If you've done that and you still have the problem, bite the bullet until September and learn the lesson. In the meantime, don't offer up your dinner and don't bring home more than you're planning to drink unless you can hide your stash.

I'd say 'excuse me, you don't lift 1 finger around here, but as soon as i order pizza or have beer in the fridge, u seem more than willing 2 help yourself then! If you want 2 eat or drink my beer around here, u need 2 start pulling your weight too and stop being so selfish.' Lol, good luck =] xxxx

Good question, when you find out the answer let me know.
Just Kidding , seriously though, talk to them and say something to the fact . "I feel like you are not helping as much around our place as you could be, would you mind helping me out, starting with ....______" I have also noticed that you are eating my food that I paid for, I would appreciate it if you asked me first and I will let you know if it is ok."
Being a snotty betch does not get you anywhere, you can try to be nice and if that does not work, then it is time for revenge! I like the exlax in the brownies idea or something else to teach her not to eat your food.

while i and everyone else agrees with jbone, that's the fantasy answer and really not in line with being out of the flat when groceries are pilfered, et. al.
Put up with it, as you know you must, until the date arrives and it is over. The only alternative is to hide your food/drinks, which, of course, is a great deal more work for you.

I paid for this pizza with MY MONEY. It was MY $13.50 from MY PAYCHECKS that had MY NAME on them. This isn't our money. It's MINE. The check stub doesn't have my name AND your name on it. If you didn't help with the paying for the pizza or beer, you don't get to help me enjoy it. Good night.

you need to talk to this person and share your feelings. Give examples. For instance, "when I ordered pizza last week, I noticed you didn't pay your fair share. It cost me 13.00, could you please chip in"?
Some roomates have to establish food areas in the kitchen, one for them and one for you and to have a house rule not to take other people's food.

it's a good lesson in putting borders and defning limits.
when you got roommates or in any other relationship.
how is food divided
who cleans when,
what happens with the common areas
what happens with guests... etc...
just lay some rules and see what he says.

What bothers us the most in other people are the reflections of our own defects!
Sounds like you are both using each other!
You called him selfish, but you're the one complaining about sharing!
