Etiquette - July 2007

I got married 3 months ago and between showers, parties, and the wedding, recieved a lot of gifts. All of the gifts I recieved prior to the wedding, I sent notes for within 2 weeks of recieving the gift. For gifts recieved at the wedding, I had all notes sent out by the begining of July. Like I said there were many gifts but I had been very good about listing everything and thought that I had all of them completed (I am still reviecing a few late gifts here and there and I promtly thank the giver). Anyways....my husband and I were still building our home while all of this was going on so we were keeping gifts at our parent's houses. Our home is finished and we are moving this week and while over at his parents I found a whole stack of unopened, unlisted, and therefor unacknowledged gifts, that his mom "forgot" about. When writing these notes, should I apologize for the delay or just write them as normal? I can't ask my mom b/c she'll flip even though its not my fault.

I'm getting popped for it at work right now and they are sending me to "Sensitivity Training" I think it's ridiculas this girl dresses like a hooker short skirts big knockers tight shirts you know what I'm saying. So I smack her *** and scream "Giddy Up" or sneak up behind her and give her the old pelivic thrust to the behind. Am I wrong she's asking for it?

I was on the bus and I saw what appeared to be 2 girls kissing just in passing you would have to have been watching them to see that their faces had not just bumped while they were hugging, and it took me a second to realize they were both girls. Then one girl got on the bus and was standing near me, and these to people started talking about if they had been in their own country, they would have been killed, and how nasty and disgusting that was. I mean, you can have your own opinions as to what is right or wrong, but I think speaking about it as if the girl wasn't right behind them was disgusting and rude. I mean, they weren't trying to be very public about it, you could see it was a hidden movement. What do you think? I don't care what your view on homosexuality is, it doen't matter for the question.

I allowed my friend to use my credit card to purchase something online today. After that transaction, I reported my card as lost cos I'm afraid she'll misuse it later. She has done it in the past to another person. The credit card officer says should there be future attempts later, they will notify the police. Should she try to use it again w/o informing me and she gets arrested, does it make me a traitor for not inforrming her about this or it just serves her right?

this man was born to hired labourers in a little town in Guatemala. His father earned about $10 a day, and managed to give him a good education. Perseverance and hard work took him to where he is now, the president of the National Coffee Association in his country. He just comes to show that with hard work, you do not need to migrate to be someone. Now, the members of the Rotary Club International want to make a ceremony in his honor. Something special you can suggest?

It is interesting that women can choose to wear pants, skirts or dresses! But men do not get this choose, why not allow some type of skirts or dress designed for men(I do not mean a kilt) that would allow men to have these same choices that a women have.

So, he can go to a music concert! He asked by e-mail if I could possibly change it. He said that he was "hoping to go" and if I can't change it, "I totally totally understand." He didn't make it sound like he already had tickets as the concert is at a county fair, so I think he was going to wing it and see if he could get tickets the day of.

Is it wrong for me to be upset? My daughter was a preemie. It's a miracle that she's even here! To be putting himself before family to me is just assinine. What say you?

I can't adjust the time, as I purposely planned it in the evening after the dinner hour as it's just cake, ice cream, and gift opening. My sister also works that day, so I planned it to be in the evening so she could come. Ugh....this is so irritating.

I can't stand it when people stop over without calling first. I find it to be rude and gives a complete disregard for both my time and privacy.
The most recent incident happened while I was out working in the garden. I told the visitor that I was sorry that I was busy and it would be better if they called before coming over next time. My (polite) words were met with the most incredulous look from the visitor.
What's your opinion on this? Do you just "drop in" on people or do you feel it shows a lack of respect for the other person like I do? In the past, I would grin and bear the visit, but now that I'm older, I will be completely honest. I have a feeling that many will NOT speak up when they aren't up or ready for a "visit". Thoughts?

I work at a part time electronic retail store and I am at a point where I'm really piss at stupid customers not knowing what they want and destroying properties of the store and even then still would not buy it. Let me explain: I've seen so many customers open brand new packages (lets use a psp game box, or anything that is packaged to illustrate my point) and totally f*cked it up so that the next person that see it would not want to buy it because it's so f*cked up. I wanted to know why they do this so I asked them and this is what they have to say; "I wanted to make sure that everything is in there" or "I just want to make sure it's brand new". I mean come on, are they that stupid. It really pisses me off to the point when I just want to punch them in the mouth for saying such retarded and idiotic remarks. I tell them if it's a brand new item in mint condition, then everything should be in there and there is a description of what is included printed right on the package.

I went this afternoon to hand in my resume at a few stores in mall. I went to hand in my resume (for a cashier job) to the manager at a clothing store. The manager talked to with me for about 5 minutes about my availability. She also described to me about the overtime and how much I had to be committed. She sounded really nice and everything. But I'm just wondering, if she was wasting her time to talk to me about all this, does this mean the chances are high that, that store is hiring right now? and if so, does it seem like they want to hire me? should i expect a call for an interview for about a week or more?
