Each one is different. A lot of pitbulls are actually very nice dogs. It's when they're treated badly or trained to be aggressive that they become really dangerous. They are so strong physically that when trained to be monsters they are dangerous, but when trained right are just joyful, loving dogs like other breeds.

They are sweet, loyal and loving dogs... they aren't bad, it's the owners that are bad. Any dog can be taught to be aggressive, it just seems that since pitbulls are so strong, more people have trained them to be aggressive and therefore they get the bad rep.

It really depends on the breeding, and to a lesser extent, the ownership. Pit Bulls have notoriously been used for dog fighting, which some irresponsible and idiotic backyard breeders have deliberately bred into the bloodline. If they're bred properly, Pit Bulls have placid and reliable temperaments, with really steady nerves and dispositions. Personally, I don't like them that much, but the bad reputation they've earned is mostly due to the owners, not the dogs.

For the most part, I really like pitbulls. They're really attractive dogs, and despite their bad rep, they're usually sweet dogs.

The dogs are fine. Some of the owners are the problem. These animals aren't for a novice dog owner.

Every pit bull I've met has been really nice and playful. Unfortunately, they can be pretty heavy and not really notice the effects of their weight when they're playing rough.

They are amazing dogs, and very sweet! I love them! The dog from little rascals was a pitbull.
Punish the deed, not the breed.

I have no problem with the breed of dog - but I do have a problem with the losers that get one, abuse it to try to be a bad @ss with a nasty dog.
