Some people are just OFFENDED by nature.

The RAG refers to the fact that before Kotex and Tampons were invented, women used RAGS between their legs to avoid spillage of their monthly discharge. It is not a put-down or rude, just a historical fact about a fact of life.

Tell the offended little twit to get over it.

I never heard of someone getting offendid of the "rag" term for menstration. I also agree with "violinist92"
The "rag" was the only thing that us women/girls had before the invention of pads. Women had to rinse that thing out and use many rags to be fresh. They also had to rinse alot on the toilet. Thats where the bidet toliet came in handy. I love bidet toilets. If we cant have a bidet, my husband will hook up a sprayer to the toilet's pipe.
~ sorry i got off the beaten track. LOL

The term here is "granny is coming." That term was used long before I became a granny(grandmother not a ragger). If people are such prudes, maybe you should really offend them and say "bloody raggen" you will get a fun reaction to their rude looks.

I dont use the term "rag". I use other terms like "I`m riding the crimson wave", "aunt flo is visiting for the week", or simply "leave me alone, I`m cramping". I only use it around the people I know really well, and try to avoid even mentioning it to people you dont know, unless absolutely necessary.

I personally don't care for that term. It sounds ignorant (ghetto). It's called a period and its a normal, natural, feminine function. We are ladies, and the term "rag" does not sound very ladylike.

Among close friends it might be okay, but to use that expression with casual acquaintances is not right. After all, it is an ugly expression--just like the 'c' word--you wouldn't say that to casual acquaintances...

It's a very OLD term for a very "Old" Condition...-and it's just gone out of "acceptance" over the years... -like alot of old, "slang" terms. You just have to be carefull who you use it around...

On the rag makes it sound like the female is whiny and bitchy.

Some people just have a snob attitude and if something is said that doesn't agree with their terms then anger happens.
