Not all old people are rude, i believe that if you were nasty when you were young, you will be the same when you are older, the same applies to being nice.

Why are young people so rude? Even when you do things for them? It's almost like they don't appreciate anything you do for them (and getting worse). Take a good look at the real world before you generalize.

Some of them just are rude and probably were all their lives.
Most of them, though, are probably in pain and humiliated by needing the help. Try not to let it bother you either way, because it's not personal towards you.

Thats very stereotypical. Not all old people are rude. I am sure there are some rude ones out there (just like there are rude young people too) but there are plenty of old lovely people out there too.

I totally agree. Not for all of them however, but for most. I mean I open doors and carry things and most of the time they barge past and look violated. Even when I walk past people they look at me like I'm some sort of leper.
I mean road wise too, they say I'm the worst thing on the roads. BUT I got cut up so badly by one guy that he nearly took out my bonnet and I had to slam on the breaks and hope the guy behind me didn't hit me, it was either that or hit the barrier. He just kept driving on blindly not even waving to say sorry or owt. If that wo me I'd wave and say sorry!!!!

For the same reason young people are arrogant and rude... they're people.
Would you like it if some smart a$$ 13 year old treated you like you are incapable of a normal thought? That's what old people get from people like you... arrogant know it alls who stupidly assume that stereotypes are cool.

its just a theory but . .
i think as people get older they become more child like in a lot of ways
so like a child their social awareness starts to break down again and they become like young children who are egocentric, until they realise 'others' exist in the world :)
this obviously affects there interactions with others. and like a spoilt child they just 'expect' that naturally people WILL do everything for them because the universe revolves around them :)
its not there fault its just part of the ageing process (although it doesn't effect everyone this way)

it's because that they r in a age when they think that they have seen the whole world which according to them is a big bad world, and as they see death approaching them they probably loose love for life and people
