We have a person at work who is a supervisor outside of our department but he sits right next to us. He listens to every single thing we say and then tells our boss what we are doing wrong. He will then try to be our friend. It is so obvious. Why are some people like this at work?

the only way to deal with them is to use their connection to the bosses ear to your own advantage and make it clear to this person what a great asset you are to the company.

we have one at our place as well. they just love their own voice. if someone else starts talking over him he will move on to the next. i just start telling them how i would fix the problems he is complaining about and he goes away..

but he goes away knowing how much more valuable i can be

give him the DEATH STARE whenever he speaks to you, if he chimes, just reply "oh we cant include you in this conversation, its private and we know how you like to repeat everythign we say" i m sue he will be embarassed and either cut the crap or make himself less nosy.

Tell him that it's an AT&T conversation, and he needs to Sprint his way out!

I'd ask him who died and made him queen $itch. Or I'd ask is he writing everything down, just to let him know you're onto him.

Idk why people are like that but ask them things like how much hours they work or something like that or say that you would rather work in privacy then have the feeling of being watched
