I'm looking for a nice, friendly saying to slap on the wall in our kitchen at the office to remind people to be courteous to their co-workers. No, not something that says "Your mother doesn't work here". Something a little classier. We are having issues with people not cleaning up after themselves, not replacing the paper towel, not picking up messes on the floor and counters, etc. Something clever and catchy would be ideal. Thanks!

If I am a crew member on a sinking cruise ship and a guest without a lifevest requests me to give them my lifevest, am I obligated to give it to them? Or can I tell them where to get a lifevest so they can get one themselves? Or should I give them my lifevest, and then go retrieve a new one for myself?

My mother in law was angry because I didn't offer her any of the expenive "Mommy Chocolate" and only offered the "share" box. I have 4 kids, and I only get the expensive choc 2x per year.
Was I wrong not to offer her the chocolate?

I live in a four apartment complex and the walls are really thin. The neighbors blare their radio all day and shut it off right before quiet hour in my city. I've talked with the landlord and he's talked with them, I've talked with them. From outside it is barely audible but inside it is constantly thump thump thump thump. I cant stand it... anybody got any ideas how to mute the noise, cheaply, on my end (im a college student), or anything legal?

My friend is pregnant with her second child. She had a shower with her first child but I didn't know her at the time. She just called saying she was sending me an invitation to her shower. I get the feeling she hoped I'd throw it for her (which I didn't because it's her second). I think the whole idea is very tacky, throwing her own shower, shower for a second baby, etc.

Should I go?

Do you follow the parents wishes and not bring a gift, or do you bring a gift anyway? This is a 9 year old kid. I've heard of the no-gift thing with adult parties, but never for kids. I just wondered what others would do in this situation.

I am the one in charge of event cordinating for my dept. and as birthdays roll around I ask everyone to chip in $3 to help pay for the cost of the cake. Well most people won't chip in and then I get stuck paying most of the cost myself. Would it be rude to get a smaller cake and tell people who haven't chipped in that they aren't welcome to any? I have hounded them before and brought it up to my supervisor, but my boss is a flake too.

My next door neigbor acts like the king of the street. I have a full list of things he does to annoy us, and the other neighbors (nobody can stand him). We've had several confrontations, and do not speak. Is there anything legal we can do to irk him?

My boyfriend; I love him to death. But there are times when I feel he is too polite. He opens doors for me and lets me go first, which I love. But he addresses everyone, even my 9 year old sister, as ma'am or sir (even me sometimes!). My older sister even made fun of him for cutting his eggroll with a knife and fork at a chinese restaurant! He also always puts his napkin on his lap and shakes everyone's hand. Am I just being paranoid or stupid? My family is not like that at all. Maybe I'm just immature; I just turned 18. Please I want you guys' advice!

Whenever I hang out with my friends that are guys, a lot of them hit on me and I don't like it. Like they're put their arm around me, hold my hand, or put their hand on my leg. I don't know how to tell them to stop without being rude or making them feel bad. I like them as a friend, but that's all. My friend Zach always did that, and when he tried to kiss me, I pulled away and now we don't talk anymore since it's awkward now. So what can I do next time it happens?

It bothers me to no end to be in a movie and have someone get on their cell and talk to someone or just play with it for the light bothers my eyes and I can not concentrate on the movies. It is rude and inconvenient for those around them to watch the movie and enjoy it.

customer service that I can...I say hi to all that come into the store...I do not avoid anyone...I have come to dislike speaking to customers and welcoming them to our department because they are so disrespectful...some get upset because no one was around to help and some do not want you to speak to them...we sell and are trained to assist people in finding what they need...that is our job..I simply say hello, my name and tell them that I will be right over here if they need me. what do customers want??? If we do not say hello they say we give bad customer service...if we say hello and may we help them they either ignore you or respond with some sort of attitude. What up with that???

Does it make them feel powerful, the possibility of affecting someone’s mood or bringing them down? Are they just miserable people who feel the need to spread their negative energy to others? Do you think people in general need to start showing a little more compassion towards others?
