and make a big show of doing it in public, not just men, young girls as well, when a dog has a poo we have to clean it up, we are getting smoke wardens to stop you smoking in public so why are these dirty ba*****s allowed to get away with spreading germs all over the place

I agree they are dirty, and I also think that they are disgusting and germ spreading. Why they do it, that is a question I am not sure can be reasonably answered except to say they are ill bred and ill raised.

When I was helping coach boy's baseball our coach would encourage the boys to spit when they would come up to bat. Sometimes it would "psyche" out the opposing pitcher and grossed out the parents in the stands. As far as spitting anywhere else we always saved it for the baseball field. Do you think that it may be appropriate if you are being accosted in public that maybe a little spit might give you just enough time to make a break for it, or do we spit in the eye of danger? Until we get enough signatures on a petition there is no way to legally begin to regulate spitting in public. I personally chose not to , however , when given the opportunity to expectorate a little lung butter I prefer a Kleenex. (even talking about it is gross)

I agree! Spitting in public is gross-especially when they make a big show of it, hawking it up and spitting it! They could come up with a law, but how are they going to enforce not spitting? I guess it is just one of those things that extremely gross people do in public!

Sometimes you cough and you get a bit of lung phlem. It's perfectly natural, what happens next? You spit, or according to your ideology you swallow? What's next are you going to try to enact a law regarding coughing? I mean seriously are your *** cheeks so cemented together that this is the best question you can come up with? Besides it's likely there is more germs where the spit landed than germs in the spit itself.

What people who spit should do is carry a handkerchief or tissue with them and spit into that. Then later dispose of their germs in the proper receptacle. Anything else is uncivilised.

I live in kind of a country-ish area and the guys spit all the time. I'm afraid I'm going to step in it one of these times, so I watch where I walk, and see it! It makes me gag so bad! When girls do it, it's obviously a sign they are bull dikes.

There are dirtier places that you don't even know about for example when you go out to eat it might be very dirty and spitting is very disgusting .

Good question. I guess it is harder to stop people from spitting than it is to stop them from smoking. I mean I hate spit, but spitting on the sidewalk is less of a problem for me than smoking on the sidewalk.

I agree with you I once asked someone if they had to spit all i got was yes in my opinion it is just plain bad manners

I find it disgusting too!!
Once in my town centre a bloke spat right in front of me, And because I was nearly sick I just yelled at him!
I really embarrassed him cos every one was looking! I don't think he'll ever do it again!
But I hate it - its gross!
