It bothers me to no end to be in a movie and have someone get on their cell and talk to someone or just play with it for the light bothers my eyes and I can not concentrate on the movies. It is rude and inconvenient for those around them to watch the movie and enjoy it.

I am so glad that many of you answered this. I find that prices at movies are too out of range for me and have to be a special movie to go. My oldest told me she did not think there were many movies worth watching anymore. I am though not in the group that can say I never took my young kids to movies but they were ususally family movies rather than some mentioned here that are not kid friendly. I also hate the large prices of the candy boxes that you can get for a dollar at the store and pay almost $5 for at the movie. The popcorn can not match what my mom used to make when I was little. The pop is outrageous...$3.50 to $4.00 where I live for a large...when it is mostly ice. It is hard to go to a movie anymore...so for $3.30 I go to the video store for a new release....pop my own corn, get my own drinks and candy and have a movie night at home.

oo...this is a great question!!! We used to LOVE going to the movies & now, with rare exception don't like to go at all because we can't stand to pay for expensive tickets and then deal with a group of people who could care less that their behavior ruins the experience....ie: talking - often loudly - before and during the movie, playing w/ cell phones, rude eating habits, kicking my chair and the amazingly rude parents who bring babies or children who are to young to inappropriate movies. Ex. when we saw Saving Private Ryan and Interview With A Vampire a few years back - there wee people who brought 3-4 yr. old children to see those shows!!! Also....here's a good one....my husband, daughter and I went early to see the 1st Harry Potter movie. As it got closer to the movie time the seating filling up very tightly. There was one seat open next to me and then several seats two rows down and across from us. A couple and their 2/kids came in and they proceed to sit in the row with the seats together, and then tried to put their approx. 3 yr old ALONE next to me.....auuuarrrrghghghg!!!! When I told the woman NO WAY, she got really mad and swore at me in front of her kid and mine.....WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE??????? Obviously I have issues with this....it's nice to read the responses and see that other people do to. Tx for asking! Ah - I feel better now :)

Well, I don't go to movie theaters anymore, but when I did the thing that annoyed me the most were the people who would comment loudly about the movie the whole time. Also people who would kick the back of my seat repeatedly. Kids running up and down the aisles were not my favorite either.

Watching DVDs and videos in the privacy of my own home without all that craziness is so much better and I can enjoy the movie a lot more.

Cell phones, talking, kicking seats, people groping each other or anything other than watching the movie and munching popcorn pisses me off.

It's even more hideous when adults bring their kids to R rated movies, the kids freak out and the parents don't take the kids out of the theatre.

It's gotten so bad I've almost given up on going to the movies. Sad but true.

A lot of them are the same as yours: -People who talk through the whole movie and don't try to be quiet -People who text through the whole movie and don't bother to at least dim their screen brightness -People who kick my seat -People who bring little kids into R rated movies and babies to midnight showings Here are some more: - People who do nothing but make out during the whole movie. The rest of us don't want to see that. Also, you're stupid for paying the price of 2 tickets when you just could have done that for free in the car. - People who get up and down more than once. Seriously? Do you have the runs or something? I'm trying to watch a movie here, quit making me get up and stop stepping on my feet.

I haven't been to the theater to see a movie since The Blair Witch Project (I had free tickets - thank god!). The last movie I paid to see was Good Will Hunting.

I'm not a big fan of modern movies, so I just don't go. I'll rent movies 2-3 times a year, but I'm usually disappointed.

My biggest pet peeve about going to the movie theater is cell phones of course, people having their feet on the back of the chair in front of them, and other people talking through out the entire movie. I also dont like it when people get up 20 times and walk right infront of you during the movie.

Cell phones should be banned at theaters. Why not ask an usher to stop this? Or, better yet, the theater manager. If someone needs to use their phone, they should at least go into the lobby.

My pet peeve is the cost of the candy, popcorn and soft drinks. Sheesh!

People who talk loudly during the movie. Yes, it's inconsiderate of others to yak on a cell phone in a movie theater when others are trying to enjoy the movie.

I don't like it when a group of people 2+ talk loudly during the previews to get the attention of the people... just because it is the previews and I will be talking to the person next to me, does not mean I am interested in your little argument you had with your coworker or classmate.

It really ticks me off when people want to chat through the whole film. Makes me wish for a disintegrator ray like Marvin the Martian has.
