I have several. I have 2 for winter and 2 for summer. All are loose flowy skirts that go to about mid-calf.
In winter I love to wear a suade skirt I got in Munich. Every time I wear it it makes me think of that city, which is definitely one of the most beautiful places on earth. It's a beautiful tan suade and I have yet to ruin it (which is really good for me) and I have matching tan knee-high boots that I love to wear with that skirt. It's so elegant looking. (I have these same exact boots in 3 colors--tan suade, chocolate suade, and black leather and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I definitely wear the boots every chance I get. All winter long. And they are outrageously comfortable too). It goes with so many sweaters and looks so elegant on.
I have a black, kinda patchwork looking dress that I love as well. I just got it this year. My sister and I got the same exact skirt which is really odd for us. We are so different in size, shape, ages and are personalities are night and day. So we've agreed on the same thing or liked the same thing probably 4 times in our entire lives. And b/c of our shape differences, even if we both like the same thing, nothing looks good on both of us. Except this skirt. I love the look of it. It's black suade and black rough...like a man's suit material...tweed maybe?...and all mixed up like an accident happened. I love it b/c it's loose and black goes with everything. I can dress it up, dress it down. I have a long stride b/c I'm such a tom boy and with most dresses I'm ripping the hem b/c I don't shorten my stride enough. This dress flairs at the bottom and gives me plenty of leg room.
The summer dresses I keep taking out of my closet every couple of days to see if its warm enough yet to start wearing. I don't wear them wtih boots though. But one is a turquoise tiered one that I ordered from Chadwicks. I believe it's called a broomstick skirt. It's all crinkly (which means I can't get yelled at by the family for looking wrinkled, a definite plus) and is such a bright happy color. I got it last year and wore it at my rehearsal dinner. So it always makes me think of the wedding. I've gotten it stained several times and each time a lil bit of Oxyclean just got it right out. I've had to let it sit overnight before to get out ketchup but it came right out with lil problem.
The 2nd is a thin white cotton. I just got it so I haven't worn it once yet. I bought it at Ross. Very summery. I have tons of tanktops in bright colors and I can imagine wearing this skirt a lot over the summer. I live on the beach and it is definitely a beach skirt. Very casual.
I could wear those nearly every day and feel like I had on a completely new outfit depending on what I pair with it. I feel confident and like I can take on the world. And no matter where I go, I know I fit in. With the winter skirts, If suddenly I was dropped in a business meeting, I'm good to go. If I'm just out to eat with friends, I'm not overdressed either. With the summer skirts, they are good for walking on the beach or for a dinner at a nice sit down restaurant. Whenever I wear them I feel like nothing can make me feel awkward or underdressed. They are my happy skirts b/c the world just looks brighter when you know you look good!

I used to own that most beautiful leather outfit I got for a special dance competition. It was all white as snow which is very unusual for leather. The skirt was long and beautiful, almost down to my ankle and I had some leather Western boots with fringes to go with it. The top was pretty short like a little vest that I wore on a white blouse. I also had a hat to match it all. I wore that outfit a lot to go dancing because it was pretty, soft and comfortable.
One day, I was on a ranch and they were horses and I had the opportunity to ride a horse so I did…in my beautiful white long skirt. It was a bad idea. The horse got startled by the noise of a tractor and went galloping and I fell down in the mud. Imagine…you dressed pretty and now you’re covered in mud…and you feel ridiculous.
I’m glad I did not break my neck but my white as snow skirt was all ruined. Whatever I did, whatever the professional cleaners did, nobody could get it back the way it was so I never wore it again.

I once had a purple satin ankle-length skirt suit. I sometimes wore it with a white satin blouse and black stiletto-heeled boots.
Luckily it was could be dry cleaned quite successfully. Although I never let it get too dirty, I did stumble in it once, landing on my bottom in some mud! When it dried, I scraped the worse of the mud off and it came back from the dry cleaners almost as good as new.

I have a crepe long skirt of 2 shades of blue. It has a flounce along the bottom. Bought it at KMart last year, for not very much money. Love it because it wears well and is easy care.
I wear a couple different tops with it. Either of the shades of blue, or white, or black, depending on my mood.
And, I wear calf length crushed velvet boots with it. Or, a pair of black sandals, or dark high heels.

I think that skirts tend to either look kind of cheap or trashy if they are tight and short, or they can be just the ordinary jean skirts that aren't necessarily sexy.
