My auntie snores loudly. She's going on a ten-hour plane trip which is during the day and she's scared to fall asleep because she'll end up snoring. I don't think she should not be able to sleep simply because she snores so I'd like solve her problem for her. What kind of tips or advice should I give her?

Do you think it's true that a person, who may already know you, that is nice to you but completely rude to strangers, such as waiters/waitresses or cashiers, is not actually a nice person at all? Or may have poor character?

Do you think it's better to keep your good deeds a secret? Or let people know about them to "inspire" them? Do you feel like you benefit the same whether people know about it or not?

We've just moved into our new flat and our neighbors are very friendly... This is all good... BUT we are worried that the friendly conversation will turn into "Hey, why don't you guys come over for dinner or drinks etc..." Don't get us wrong we like to socialise, BUT, we also like our space and because we are so busy we don't often get time to meet even our own friends! How can we make sure that this situation does not get out of hand without us being rude? We 'd rather it didn't get to the stage where we have to say "No, we don't want to come over to your place". Suggestions please..

Or where you live is a major factor in how people behave?

Do you join them if you can't beat 'em?

Do you find yourself more impatient and hostile because of the environment around you?

My friend attended the wedding of a coworker; the wedding was a traditional Chinese wedding, including the food. She knew that she would'nt be able to eat the dishes served, so she planned to skip the reception. But, she stayed, and asked the manager if there was something else she could eat. She said she could tell the manager was a bit uncomfortable, but he found other food for her.
I say this was rude, inappropriate, and very poor etiquette; especially because of the different culture. I believe this would be viewed as rude in the Chinese culture. I said she should have eaten later/before or excused herself and left the reception. Again, she knew the menu in advance. She insists that what she did was OK. Anyone have an opinion?

Where I work, personal cell phones are constantly ringing. The ringtones are usually loud and distracting. And of course you have to listen to many of the conversations. I'm one of the few people in my office who don't have a cell phone, so I'm not sure how to complain.
