I cannot tell him anything, can I? Wouldn't be polite. But then he is also not polite: either he doesn't wash his clothes, or himself, or his teeth, or all. I feel sick when i am in the same office with him, and I must do it when we have meetings, and this all the time! I feel trapped!

There is a YA user('HOTSAUCE') who has made it a daily ritual to e-mail me with insults. She calls me old, smelly, and other assorted rantings.
I've decided to simply pity her--she really must be quite lonely and miserable.
My last--and final--response to her was 'peace, love, and joy be yours always...'

Did I do the right thing,in your opinion?

I am very happy for him, however I usually have a rule that if I am invited to a wedding I usually don't attend because I think weddings are boring and full of fru fru. I am single and I have an adversion to wedding I guess because I get very sad about weddings because I am in my late thirties and not yet married or have a serious significant other. Is it because of jealousy. Iget this way too when friends of mine get engaged, married and have babies. Is it wrong of me not wanting to participate in their joy. I really like my coworker and he has become a good friend and has helped me out but I just don't have the heart to decline his invitation. Should I go to his wedding or just do what I do not to attend weddings out of principle?

I was in a restroom at the grocery store, when i overheard a mother and child, the child was going number 2 and the mother was instructing him, after they were done. The mother asked the child if he wanted to wash his hands,he said "nooo" and the mother said okay???? IS THIS NOT WHY WE ARE SEEING MORE AND MORE CASES OF ECOLI- AND SICKNESSES PASSED FROM POOP??? i found this so disgusting I just felt like saying something but I kept my mouth shut,is there a polite way of approaching someone like this?or is it none of my buisness?personally I think washing of hands should be ENFORCED!

After smoking a cigarette, isn't it rude to throw the butt into the street? But then again, where else are you supposed to put it? You can't put it in a trash can, as it may burst into flames. It seems like littering is accepted for smokers only?
I know its definitely rude to throw it in the middle of the sidewalk, or in front of a residence or store. What do you think?

I see this a lot and it annoys me. If they need use of a scooter, fine, but I see it all the time. The large woman pulls into the handycapped spot and walks into the store. No tags on her vehicle. If anything, they need to park at the far end of the lot and walk the entire distance to the store.

We have a neighbor across the street with a new basement renter. The renter parks in front of our house instead of her residence. I have politely asked her to park in front of her residence or further down the curb (so as not right in front of our window) she said sure, but now she AND her overnight boyfriend park in front of our house.

Any diplomatic way to handle? I assume she is free to park whereever she wants on public streets.

thx

My boss will be gone this week and I need to give my notice sometime this coming week. There is nobody over my boss because he is a politician and we do not have a human resources department in our little office. I cannot tell him before he leaves because he has already been gone the past week and will not return until the end of this week. Also, there is nobody directly below me. It's just me and him!

The only way I can think of going about this is to call him on his cell phone; I also plan to leave a resignation letter on his desk for when he returns. He has a really bad temper (which is partly why I'm quitting) and I just want to do the right thing so he can't say I went about it the wrong way. My new job needs me in exactly two weeks after I give my notice... Help!!!

I work in an environment where it seems like people don't have anything better to do than gossip about others. I try not to partake, but there are times when I'm being drug in - maybe its my turn to get picked on in the schoolyard. I wouldn't expect my employer to be able to curb the gossip, but at what point does it become harassment? Does anyone have a website to back this up?

I work in a smaller city, and you get to know the 'regulars'. anyways, earlier today, my brain just 'froze' and i couldn't remeber this guy's last name and he just went off on me, like everyone is suppose to know his name.

And when he told me his last name he the tone he gave me was like 'you better remember it or else'

A fellow student hosted a baby shower for me and another expectant mother. Unfortunately, only 4 people came and even fewer had time to purchase gifts. Despite the low turnout, many of my friends (fellow students) did want to come but it was too last minute: the hostess decided to throw the shower the same week and sent out invitations via a mass e-mail just 4 days prior. The date also conflicted w/a holiday and our exams. I'll be frank. This has been a difficult pregnancy and I'd to celebrate with my friends. This is my first child and DH and I are both full-time students who live far from family. We "need" many basic baby things. Gifts would be a great help. May I host my own "Welcome Baby" party after the birth? If so, may I invite friends who were also invited to the shower? (Remember: the shower invites were sent via bulk e-mail to the entire department only 4 days in advance.) Or would this be considered a duplicate shower invitation? How would I handle registry information?

Me and my husband do not have cell phones. We dont because we just dont see the need to spend at least 50 dollars a month per person to have one. We just tell eachother our schedule before we leave in the day and stick to that and show up on time. I think its very funny everyone HAS to have one now adays. What do you think people did before cell phones? If i need to make a call i just find a pay phone. Also sometime people get really mad at me for not having one, i just laugh and give them my home phone. I actually like not being reachable 24/7 sometimes I just dont want to talk to you :) Anyone else in my boat?

I see people talking on their cell phones everywhere I go and it doesn't bother me one bit. I don't get why some people find it so offensive. Please explain to me why it is so rude. Personally, I value my friends more than anything and therefore I find it more important to answer my cell phone than to talk to the clerk at the grocery store!
