I hate it when they have handicapped parking at places like a ski resort, or a trailhead. If you are healthy enough to ski or hike, what the hell do you need a reserved spot for?

That's no different than a thin person doing it, or a pregnant woman. No tags means no spot (do check the license plate, sometimes there's a handicap designation there instead of hanging from the rear-view).
In California, it's like a $350 fine if you're in a handicap spot without a handicap placard/plate. Point them out to the parking/security people if there are any. ;)

'Tis not only fat people wo take the places of those poor and unfortunate souls who are handicapped. The main problem is, is that the Police Forces rarely enforce the rule that only handicaps can go in the handicapped spot - it is a federal offence! Many people also have this tendency to take the Handicapped spots because they are closer to the mall entrance/office etc. These people are impatient fools who cannot walk just 100 metres more to get to the entrance of the Mall. Fat People should not be able to park in these spots unless thay have the permission to do so (as would be granted by the City Halll)
Hope this has helped,
S.O.

Sometimes people are overweight due to medical conditions and not their "Lack of food intake control or laziness". And being overweight sometimes has other health related problems with it, that deems a person handicapped.
Being one of those people, I have high blood pressure, a lower back injury and other things that my doctor deems as handicapped.
If the person doesn't have handicapped tag on their vehicle either in the front window or their back license plate, they should be reported to the police.

I personally don't think they should declare obesity as a disability since people are in fact getting surgeries to lose the weight. I see people parking there with plates indicating handicapped and if they don't look handicapped that's because either a family member or spouse/partner owns the car with those tags. I see it all the time and now they fine people $150 if you park in those spots without proper tags.

Just because you dont see a persons disability doesnt mean they dont have one. Yes, thier obesity can be the cause of it but that isnt always the case.
Yet, if they have no tag on thier vehicle, they can be ticketed as easily as anyone else.

"No tags on her vehicle" ? You mean no handicapped hang-tag on the mirror or laying on the dash? Overweight or not, they should not be using handicapped spaces without a permit (meaning they have a condition which warrants it).

Yes, I know what you mean. This guy I work with has no real disability other than being fat and he always parks in the handicap spots. Its completely inconsiderate to those who truly need those spaces.

frankly the handicap spots are used up mostly by SLACKERS in all shapes and sizes... the doctors give them out to anyone and could care less. sure there are legitimate handicapees but for the most part its a scam.
now in the case of obese people using them it is THEIR misfortune because their laziness and sedentary ways will lead to early death so who it the victim?
