I work in an environment where it seems like people don't have anything better to do than gossip about others. I try not to partake, but there are times when I'm being drug in - maybe its my turn to get picked on in the schoolyard. I wouldn't expect my employer to be able to curb the gossip, but at what point does it become harassment? Does anyone have a website to back this up?

An employer must be very careful first not to be the source of a gossip (by chit-chatting with employees) .Second neither his/her actions to provoke a gossip (better treatment to someone, unreasonable raises)

An employer can't control the gossip flow as employees talk to each other also out of the office.

We have to live with the gossips of others and never let them harm ourselves.

It's not harassment unless someone is purposely picking on you day in and day out. Next time someone gossips just tell them that you prefer not to get involved.
