I work full time, and am a single mom - but I always did my best to find time for friends and everybody. When I've been at home with my kid as a baby, I enjoyed the extra time for reading, having fun, taking walks and so on - I wasn't bored, but definitely I had loads of extra time.

Recently, one of my best friends has stopped working, bless her, to enjoy a "life of leisure". She's always been very "busy, busy, busy". Note that she doesn't have children. Now she sent me an email (2 months later), saying that she is so incredibly busy, she cannot see anybody before mid next month... I got peeved, and felt I am at the bottom of the priorities list!!!

what do you think? is it normal to be so busy all the time, or is it just a lack of organization? or is it simply that she has learned how to say NO, and I am apparently included in it?

Some niaeve party ?nd approx. 3 days ago "Oh, Korean Churches are gathering funds for the VT victims-isn't that great? I respond by saying rather than elevating the circumstance and demeaning the victims by offering $$ (who would care about $$ at a time such as this???!!) Rather let us convene as one and use the $$'s to educate the public that we simply all have thoughts, doubts and fears and we should teach our kids that we ALL have something to offer. I got 2 thumbs down-yeah I know that this person probably dosen't have kids and can't see the the "big " picture beyond themselves but that hurt. I know I should'nt care but I really could use a note from someone that basically says" We are only here for a while"

Until recently, I lived with two others (lets call them A nd B). A couple of weeks ago antother flatmate moved in (lets call her C).

I get on really well with B and consider her a good friend. I'm alsop keen to get to know C since I moved here from overseas and I've found it hard to meet new people, and she seems pretty nice to me.

However, B has really taken a dislike to C and is being quite oopenly rude to her for no reason, apart from "She's too friendly, it rubs me up the wrong way." I mean, obviously C is trying to be friendly, she only just moved in, it would be stupid to be UNfriendly, yeah??

I feel quite disappointed in B and want to tell her to lay off C, but dont want to stir up any more conflict.

Help!!

A hasnt noticed any of this is going on!!

I phoned her.. remember she never makes any "contact" ... told me that she promised that her boyfriend wouldn't stay in the living quarters anymore... duhhh .. it has been 2 weeks already...... and her siters that makes 2 guests 3 weeks...
oh blow me down .. I thought I would call her tonight and ask what was going on.... "oh just to let you know.. I will give one months notice.. we will be all moving out on June 1st.." ... did you need extra money for my sister staying here for the past month? .... well I said... and your boyfriend? was he a ghost in the suite too? .... well I think I should charge 300 per head as a hotel rate...? yeah?

I was invited to an italian wedding recently and the invitation had no gift registry. Does that mean they do not want a gift or does it mean they want money? I'm not sure if this a cultural thing because I'm not italian and I am not sure of their traditions.

I allowed one of my friends to stay with me for what I thought was going to be for a month until she got back on her feet, got a job, an apartment etc..and the main reason I allowed her to stay was because I have the space to accomodate her, and she has a 2 year old..it's been 4 months now, and now she's 2 months pregnant. My thing is, I've helped her with her resume, and she's been on countless interviews, however she claims the reason she didn't get the job was because she's black (why people constantly pull this race card is beyond me, and I think it's crap) but anyhoo, I told her I'd try my best to help her find a job, and I think helping her with her resume and taking her to her interviews is helping enough. She's been living rent free and now I'm getting sick of it because she's not making an effort. Last week I told her that she's gonna have to find somewhere else to stay and she accused me of being a bad friend. Was I wrong for doing this? Last time I checked it was my house..

She needs some ideas on how to respond (or not) to comments from both custumers and coworkers. One coworker is in training to be her manager. She has no trouble shutting people down at school etc., but doesn't want to start out on the wrong foot at a new job.

What would you do if at school, your best friend took your paper to "see," copied it word by word when you weren't there, and turned it into your teacher earlier in the day than you did, AND got an A plus? And later in the day, you turned it into your teacher, and she gave you a weird look. Later that day, you confronted your friend about it after finding it out, and she smiled and said a sarcastic "Sor-RY" when you said you were upset. What would you do?

This didn't happen to me, but it happened to one of my best friends, and I'm looking for advice to tell her.

Seriously. I see this woman in a wheelchair at my local mall quite often. I have seen her purposely stop in her wheelchair directly behind, and very close to someone that has their back to her. When they turn around and almost fall over her, and of course, the apologize even though it is her fault, she just looks at them. Once when I was in a book store, I saw her coming up the aisle I was in, so I stepped back so she could pass. She then stopped right in front of the books she knew I was looking at, and just gave me a smile like she was really pleased with herself, then just sat there, not even looking at any of the books (and I know she was not looking at them because she looked straight ahead, not to the left where the nooks were) even though she saw that I was looking at books there.

A friend of mine has been helping me move. He didn't want to take money or anything, but I wanted to give something to show my appreciation. He was talking about preordering the new Harry Potter book, so I went and got it for him. I let him know that I had taken care of it (so he wouldn't do it as well). My problem is, I think he is under the impression that I just preordered it for him, but he will still be responsible to pay. I am in fact taking care of the money for it. I think it would be kind of rude to order something and make someone pay for it. Anyway, should I just let it go for now and then when it comes in he will know I paid, or should I say something? I think it seems kind of tacky to randomly say later that I am paying for it, but I also don't want him to think I'm rudely ordering things for him to pay for. Any input? Thanks.

I've recently gotten an iPod, and I've realized that it is sometimes awkward to be listening to your iPod when doing certain things. Like ordering lunch at the school cafeteria. Or buying something at the store. I just want to know when or when not to listen to your iPod.

I live in a dorm and we are allowed 'guests' to stay over...well the girl next door is extremley loud during sex sessions with her visitor. Not only is it annoying, she sounds like the whales talking in Finding Nemo! I hate it because it tends to be in the middle of the night and I have a hard time getting back to sleep after being woken up. I've had a gentleman friend visit me and I go through pains to ensure that I am not loud or heard during sex...what is a tactful way to tell her to keep it down because her sex sounds are really loud, annoying and keep me awake? I want to just bang on the wall but I want to show a little class. Any suggestions?

I am a regular guy and I am naturally attracted to girls. In our big office at work, I do look at them but they do not seem to notice me. Have they already looked and decided not to look again or is that just what they have trained themselves to do? Should I say Hi ? Or should I just get on with my life?

My dad is having MAJOR surgery right now why I type this...

I am nervous and could really use a drink to calm my nerves...

I see there is a Dunkin Donuts and a cafeteria, but they do not serve beer or wine.

I NEED a drink and I think it would be a really lucrative adventure to apply for a liquor license and open a beer cart in the waiting room.

I would think there are many others who are in the same need for booze I am.

I could have a cart I could wheel around the hospital. I could go to the Emergency Room and serve to the victim families, I could serve to those who just lost a loved one...not to mention serve to the people who are coming in and out for routine procedures.

I could make millions on this...how do I apply for a liquor license??

Please don't take that as a challenge. I do not wish for negativity. I'm really looking for honest responses. No one can make me say or do anything. Am I missing something here? Does that make me heartless? I attempt to never offend others because it makes them feel sad. It seems people tend to make excuses for bad behavior.

Our office is a two story building with a loft, so I hear everything that goes on. A lady I work with works upstairs, and pops her gum constantly when she's not singing off-key to the radio. It's a 4 person office, and the other two are my parents, so there's no way I can make waves. What can I do?
