Go out for a beer or a movie. Same thing I'd do with my straight friends. Sweet merciful Zarquon, we're all still people so what's the difference?

Wish him/her all the best and support them as much as possible! And for pete's sake, don't use the word fag as slang for stupid. Example - Oh, you're such a fag. So not cool!!!!
P.S. And don't fall prey to all the stupid cliches about people who are gay!

What does one's sexuality have to do with friendship . . . unless you or your friend want a friendship "with benefits," and that's a different question, all togehter.
Whether my friend was an "outted veteran" or recently was out of the closet, I'd support and encourage him/her to be who s/he is. That's what friends do!
